Yes Russell seems focused. I am impressed. Belfry is up 14-7 at halftime and has fumbled 3 times, and had 2 or 3 false starts.

I have read alot of Mercer Co posts, and honestly I don't read them as being ridiculous. I read them as a fanbase who is fired up. Everyone who is behind has the chance to make history! Mercer fans, be humble, be happy, respect everyone, and enjoy this. This is it guys! This is every 2a teams' chances to make history. I think this is a great year. I just can't read it any other way.

Belfry on the other hand, needs to protect the football, play penalty free ball and methodically grind Prestonsburg into the turf. I HATE HATE HATE that this series comes to an end. IMO, this matchup might brings out the best of far EKY/Mountain football and really excites these two communities.

It Pburg plays good base D, they will do better. I have been advocating this approach for a few years now! Pburg needs to play solid, make tackles and hope they can get Belfry in 3rd and 5 or longer OR hope that Belfry fumbles or has a drive killing penalty before they can finish a drive.

Depending on how much studying I get done, I may actually attend my first Louisville high school football game @ Male this Friday night. To answer the actual question presented by this thread, I think the overall state attendance will be roughly the same as it would have been under the old system.

I think Belfry plays good run defense on 1st down and forces Prestonsburg into passing situations. Once Pburg is forced to pass, look for Belfry to be in good shape. Hughs hasn't been very accurate this season and it would take a breakout game from him for the Blackcats to win IMO.

Take care of business Russell football players! IMO, 2a football (as we have come to know it, and I think i can speak for all of us, LOVE it) has never been more exciting. Lets go out with a bang and have an awesome year. Mr. Clark is only the man that speaks for Rusell IMO, and if I had to guess, I bet that whole team is ready to lay it on the line for Red Devil football.

Gosh... I am almost cheering for Mercer at this point. This crap has gone on too long. I bet if someone combs my post, I probably gave "Merger Co" some crap myself, but seriously guys, lets just let it play out and enjoy the playoffs. IMO, Joe Dirt has been a very good and reasonable fan of his/her program. I don't live and die with reading posts on this site, but I have tried to follow the 2a posts, and I think its time to just LET IT DIE! This is the time we all love! The playoffs are here, the second round is here! Every team left in it gets there chance soon! Can Mercer live up to the expectations? I don't know about anyone else, but I'm looking forward to see if they can! IMO Mercer Co brings another dimension to 2a football. Its Russell v Fleming, Belfry v Prestonsburg, Caldwell v Trigg, Corbin v Wayne, Western v Larue, Mercer v Newport. Glasgow v OC, AND Leslie v Middlesboro. I guess I have just come to the realization that this is an AWESOME year for 2a football. I hope other people will as well.

I have to say this: I have been on here for a while (in one way or another) and OneIJoe has been the Rock of the Blackcat program and John Dorrosett (even in his weakest of moments in the face of my strongest criticism) and I respect him for his loyalty. I KNOW that he would feel betrayed if I did not say this: Belfry gets their EIGHT victory in row against Prestonsburg! (Sorry Watusi and all of the other wonderfu Pirate fans, but I have to be consistent)

Belfry has seemingly scored a long TD through the air in all of the Pburg games of recent vintage. Expect Belfry to sneak a RB right up the center of the field for a score early. I have no clue what else to say about this game.

Sheldon Clark is something of an enigma. After the Belfry game, they won unimpressively against PCC and Magoffin Co. I think Sheldon Clark is better than PBurg, but if I was gambling, I wouldn't know how to bet this game!

Wow... In response to UnderArmour I think Prestonsburg was the best team Belfry played in 03 and 04. IMO, and I know oneIjoe and others may counter, Belfry won those games due to better conditioning and better coaching. I can't believe anyone would call Prestonsburg weak. Simply wrong.
