  1. DeSales up 21-6 The COlts are much improved! Had a feeling about this one. J'town hadn't played the toughest competition.
  2. As far as N. Ky, doubt there will be anyone left after three rounds. Simon Kenton gave up 50 and 58 to CovCath and Beechwood and then 36 to Great Crossing right? Male might score 70 on the Pioneers in the second round.
  3. Thanks for posting this. Knew there had to be some reason for the massive changes this week. As far as 6-A, Male and Douglass have the most/best athletes, Trinity has the best defense. Manual is not too far off and St. X will still be there. Will be stunned if one of those five schools don't win it all.
  4. So, there was a 'change and clean up' in the RPI calculations. I knew it had to be something. Just saw RockNation posted in another thread and clicked on the link for the note from the KHSAA. Again, just a quick look and there was a massive switch in the numbers in one week. It had to be something other than the ratings evening themselves out. And it was. https://khsaa.org/10-06-23-football-playoff-schedule-request-and-football-rpi-clarification-and-clean-up/
  5. Yes, I understand the ratings get 'better' as the season goes on. But the numbers have never been that dramatically different. You are basically talking about 8-10 teams that saw the RPI number drop 30 percent. Again, I am not a math wizard but that doesn't seem right in one week. And it's not just 6-A. We went from 20-plus teams at 1.00000 (or higher) to the highest RPI now in the state being .87961 and only two teams in the whole state over .80000. I just find it very odd that it's such a dramatic shift in one week.
  6. OK, I am not a math wizard and don't know the whole program So someone please help me if I am wrong. But the RPI numbers are way, way, way different than they were last week. Did one week of scores change things that much? If I recall there were 7 or 8 teams with 1.00000 or higher ratings and now the highest ranked team in 6-A has a .69526. I mean the better teams are at or near the top now but why such a big change in the numbers?
  7. Should be a close game for a while But in the end X pulls it out 35-21
  8. I get that it will play itself out But dang the No. 1 team in the class lost to the No. 12 team by a score of 36-3 That's what just baffles my mind. I get Trinity is 3-3 and where it's at I am fine with but the team they did beat 36-3 is No. 1. Explain that one?
  9. Just looked at the stats on the scoreboard Pretty wild Trinity had 262 yards rushing and 261 yards passing Very balanced and that is something they have been missing for most of the season. On a side note, when had St. X ever given up 262 yards rushing? Yikes! That's not a fun film for a defensive coordinator to watch.
  10. Depends on which Trinity team shows up The one from last week and it'll be a good game and very tight. The one from Male and Cincy X will roll. Let's hope they can finally string two good weeks in a row together.
  11. Congrats to Coach Cobb and the Shamrocks! A nice week when you sweep your rivals. Even better when you outscore them 130-50 in the three games. They made St. X look very, very ordinary on offense and very, very slow on defense.
  12. For one thing, a freshman starting at QB. Johnson was fantastic tonight but he's still a freshman. When they establish the run and he's playing with poise they are really good.
  13. Total domination And the 10 that dress JV and varsity did not even play. Freshman class is deep and talented for Shamrocks and just the opposite at X
  14. Should have been happening already. And has in other states (certain cities not entire state am I talking about) for a long time. Was shocked a few years ago when I went to a game in Georgia and it was that way. Male and Ballard will still get a huge crowd but will be minus all the clutter in that area down by the concession stand. Was lots of fights there last weekend.
  15. DeSales is better But Fern Creek (team North Oldham beat) is a lot better than Seneca (team DeSales beat) So, while DeSales has taken steps I still think NO gets the win, 24-17
  16. Will JT Haskins play? That's the biggest question heading into this one. Was hurt late against Trinity
  17. Manual will win The Crimsons have the talent to be one of the top 3-4 teams in the state. We shall see if they can get there, but they are really talented.
  18. Running clock in this one Stone will get some yards but they won't stop St. X's offense
  19. Atherton is so, so, so very much improved. Hats off to coach White. They have a really good senior in Andre Steele. Just saw a highlight run of his on a 91-yard TD - maybe the play of the week.
  20. Ha! An even funnier stat to me Trinity 33 plays and 13 came on the opening drive. The statement on the opening drive set the tone.
  21. Trinity had the ball for all of 5 minutes in the second half. Not going to say they are back just yet....it's only one game...but that was certainly more like it The biggest difference to me for Trinity? The offensive line....the left tackle and left guard manhandled the Defenders.
  22. Yes, but they had minus-20 yards rushing and I think I saw it was 62 plays for BS to 33 for Trinity.
