  1. Make that 7 tds for Watkins. Corbin recovers the fumble and he goes in for the TD.
  2. Make that 6 tds. 72 yard run for Watkins to start the second half. 43-34 Corbin.
  3. This is gonna be a barnburner. Corbin is gonna have to make a stand on D here.
  4. Corbin has an excellent pass D these days. Their run D is very good too.
  5. I would say the best route would be take the Boonesboro exit (95). Once you get to Winchester, you make a left at the light (cannot remember which one, there is where we need some Clark Co faithful). I know once you make a left off of the main road, the school will be to your right.
  6. I listened to the radio tonight after work and it said that Watkins only got about 4 carries in the first half but ran wild after the break. If so, that is even more impressive for the Redhounds. Any particulars of this game would be great to hear.
  7. Nice win for the Hounds against a very good Hazard ball club on a dreary night at Campbell field.
  8. 27-7 with 6:46 left. Corbin is up and kicking off.
  9. They would be appreciated. Thanks
  10. This is a scary game for Corbin. I don't doubt that on paper Corbin has the better team but again as myself and everyone says, "games aren't played on paper." Last week's South Laurel game proved that. With all due respect to South, Hazard is a much better team. The Bulldogs have been putting up very impressive numbers and have some great players. To hear WYMT tell it, Hazard has been very good on D. Corbin on the other hand has one of the better rushing attacks in the state. They also have a surprisingly good passing game. I have been impressed with Roman Mitchell in the two games that I have seen. He may not have the WOW factor as Cashen did where he could go out and put up 300 plus yards on a given night but he's a very smart QB. Mitchell seems to put the ball out there where he knows it will be caught. If pressured, he will throw it away and not take negative yards. The D has been very good too for Corbin. Frederick has been exceptional this year at safety as have the Corners. If Corbin can get some early pressure up front or from the backers, I think it could get Hazard's O off kilter and a few forced passes leading to ints or incompletions. Corbin 34 Hazard 21
  11. I was impressed with Corbin and South. South doesn't have the overall talent that they have had 4 or 5 years ago but they have a very nice line and backs. Their line was big and physical. If their backs had more experience and weren't adapting to a new style, they would be a tough ball club. As for Corbin, they came out, ran the ball, passed the ball and did what they needed to do. I'm much more impressed with a 21-0 win than I would have been a 42-14 win. Pitching a shutout is a hard thing to do. Especially with a good offense like South. I will also say, Im sure Corbin was overlooking them a bit but South coming out and smacking them made it more close than what the reality says it should have been. Corbin needs to get tougher across the front. As Hounds said, they do seem to lack a little toughness. I'm not saying they should play dirty and cheap shot but a nasty streak is needed. This is football, not youth choir at the church house. Whether anyone will admit it or not, everyone knows football needs to have a little venom. I'm not one to care whether or not someone thinks if I have class or not. Like I said, nothing dirty or intentionally trying to injure a kid but it'd be nice if the Hounds caused some bruises and let the opponents know they just got hit.
  12. On paper, Corbin should run away with this game but I never remember this game ending how it should on paper. Maybe this year, Corbin has too many horses but I believe that South will bring the fight to the Hounds. I think for a half, South Laurel will hang tough. I could see it being a 7-14 point lead for the Hounds at the half. In the end, I think Corbin will pull away and win 44-14.
  13. I heard it on the radio and they were saying Roman was falling down once when he handed it off. NL was saying he was down. Dave and Dave said where he was falling backwards, his knee may have not touched but they couldn't tell.
  14. I was able to get a little feed off the radio and heard Dave and Dave speaking about how things were getting chippy. Maybe they were making it sound like it was going both ways so they wouldn't come off as blaming the North kids but I'm sure it was going both ways. Kids will be kids and football is a physical game full of emotion. I'll admit that North has a hot head or two from what I recall but I've seen many players from our team scuffle a little bit in games. We just need to remember that these are kids on here. That doesn't condone any actions by either team but we as adults, shouldn't call out the kids even if it was or wasn't obvious. I can without a doubt say, it's no reflection of the North Laurel coaching staff. Any problem that is seen fit to be dealt with, will be dealt with after they watch film. I am confident in that. Same goes for Corbin.
  15. I hate to say it but I believe Danville hung it up in the locker room last Saturday night at Campbell Field. Once Corbin got up on them, the Ads seemed to just go through the motions. Sounds like Somerset came to play tonight. Congrats on the victory. As a fan told us from Corbin, I'd not hang your hat on beating the Ads this season. Never the less, a Win is a Win and congratulations are in order. I hope those kids from Danville get their heads on straight and play some football. There is too much talent on those sidelines and you guys have one of the best coaches in Kentucky history. Bust your hump and win some football games. Being 1-3 isn't because you all aren't good enough. There is too strong of a tradition up there to represent it with lackluster effort. I'm pulling for you guys.

  17. Was not able to attend but got text updates. From how it sounded, North came to play but Corbin was just too much for the up and coming Jags. Corbin blew things open in the 3rd before subbing down in the 4th. North scored with 17 seconds left. Great job Hounds and keep your heads up North.
  18. Corbin 27 NLHS. 0 start of 4th
  19. How many yards does watkins have?
  20. The way I look at it is, learn to play defense or be embarassed. The object of the game is to stop the other team. If I am a coach, obviously I won't keep the starters in the game if it is out of hand. However, I will play kids that bust their hump all week long. These kids deserve a chance to play and can't help if if they are that much better. Nobody wants to embarass kids but how can we also deprive kids the right to do what they have worked hart at doing? If I have a young QB and my style is passing, Im gonna pass the ball when he goes in whether or not we are up 50 or 60. It's not my fault the other team can't hang. If they don't like it, they can drop my team from the schedule.
  21. North is very much improved but rebuilding is a process. Corbin should win by about 20
  22. To be honest, I would say they have some great backs coming up. However, I'm out of the loop these days and would hate to say yes or no. I do know they have a fine 8th grade team and I know the Sophomore class was excellent in Middle school. As always, I'm sure Corbin will continue to be Corbin and contending but do not know if they have any superstars. The Foley kid was unreal in middle school but he still needs to hit the weight room. Taylor returns and will more than likely be the feature back next year.
  23. SHS, yes he is a monster. Also, I was impressed with Corbin's D. Danville was forced to pass more than what I think is the usual. Corbin's interior was shutting down the Ad's run game. Danville had a few nice runs when they could get to the edge or QB would scramble but great D by the Big Red.
