Corbin 48 Lex. Christian 34
Mike Fields will be talking about this game for a while in his Herald Leader column I bet. It was good to see Fritts walking around with no noticable limp tonight as well. I also want to tip my hat to Lance Freeman who stepped up and made some big passes. Every QB is going to throw an int or two but Lance played a fine ballgame with some big runs. You can see the confidence growing each week for the young man. I know he was in a no win situation with a player like Cashen in front of him but I bet he would have been a very nice player with another year or two. Win win for the hounds in that case. Dominique Hayden and Daniel Harmon of Pikeville played a huge roles in it but if Corbin can shore up their run D, I smell big things.

That was a heck of a game. For the longest time it was tit for tat right to the finish. Corbin score, LCA score, Corbin score, LCA score and miss the extra point, Corbin score and miss the extra point, Corbin throws pick, LCA throws pick returned for TD. Great game featuring two GREAT running backs in Watkins and Hayden. Corbin proved to have a few too many horses but LCA is one heck of a ball club.

Mountain Top 10 IV
Belfry has won the big price most recently but I think that you can throw darts in the dark and could claim king of the mountain to either Bell, Corbin, or Belfry over time. These 3 teams are the most consistant when it comes to state and mountain rankings.

Corbin vs LCA predictions
I'll not jump to conclusions but it's good news either way even if Fritts doesn't get to play this year. If it was a severe tear, there would be no need in a second opinion. If it's a partial tear, it's still very unfortunate for Ryan but the healing and rehab process will be sped up. Either way, prayers are with him. Hope to see him back this year but would rather him be healthy for the long haul.

Any word on Fritts' MRI today?

Corbin vs LCA predictions
People were saying the same thing last year and Corbin went up there and whipped LCA by 26 at their place.

Corbin 48 Knott County 14
I sure hope the best for Fritts. Not only for Corbin sake but most importantly for his sake. He's a heck of a back and is the go to guy. Fortunately, if there is a silver lining, Watkins and Campbell are more than capable of carrying the load. I'd imagine Foley would have been the one to step in for Fritts along with Sewell. However with Brady out, that cuts down on the depth. If Fritts is out for a significant amount of time, they have no choice but to work some more passing into the scheme. 2 backs will get winded so the Hounds will need more options. Speaking of which, did Freeman play well and did they do much passing?

What was the score at the half? Anyone have any stats or estimates? I heard Fritts went down. Anything serious?

Corbin 2008/2009
From all accounts that I've heard, Crawford is 100% and healthier than ever. I look for another 20 and 12 type season out of him.

Corbin 2008/2009
Hound should be pretty stacked. They have the definite talent advantage this year in the region. I know games are determined on the court but in a figurative sense, they would almost have to try and lose region this year.

Corbin/Knott County Central predictions
What happened to Taylor? I saw him get helped off the field against Laurel County but wasn't sure what the verdict was. He was also on the ground and limping around during the Knox Central game.

Middle School Football
How big is the kid now? Someone should get him with Coach Burchett or someone and get a workout plan started. Odds are the kid won't get much bigger but he is already college sized so strength and technique should be what he works on.

Corbin/Knott County Central predictions
I too was very impressed with Lance against South. I'd still rather him be able to get comfortable passing the ball though. He looked a little hesitant on a few plays. I think some pure passing downs should be worked into the scheme Friday. We seemingly only pass when we absolutely must. I think that given time and reps, Lance will be fine. I'd just rather see a game like this be when Corbin puts it in the air 20 times.

Corbin/Knott County Central predictions
It could be whatever Corbin wants it to be. I hope Corbin uses this game to work on their passing game. Everyone knows the Hounds can run it but you have to be able to pass the ball at least 30% of the time to be a legit factor in a championship race. Too many teams are starting to put 10 and even all 11 guys in the box. With no passing game, we will be talking about a 30 point whippin given to the Hounds if they don't develop some sort of alternative weapon on O to keep d's honest and pull a few people out of the box.

Does Corbin still have that Ungodly huge kid? There was a kid playing in the 5th and 6th grade league with my little cousin a few years ago. He was about 6'3" 320 pounds or so. I would think he would be in 7th or 8th grade now? How big is the kid now? I remember talking to people that said he was timid because he was afraid he would hurt people. Hopefully he has developed a mean streak.

Corbin 31 South Laurel 21
The Corbin/Bell game should be played but it WAS NOT cancelled because Corbin didn't think they couldn't compete. The last game was won by Bell on a last second field goal. Corbin returned nearly everyone from that team and would have been a great game last year. The series was cancelled because of problems between Jewell and Hilton from what I have gathered. It was more than likely due to Dudley raising cane when TR Christopher planned on transferring to Corbin from Bell. It's NOT because Corbin is afraid of Bell. Corbin isn't Middlesboro. Spin it however you choose to do though.

10-Run Rule in Football????
The only ten run rule in football should be something called defense. If you don't want scored on, learn to play that part of the game. I'm all about class and sportsmanship but i'd never tell my kids to give anything less than 110%. In fact, they'd run their you know whats off the next day if they showed the first sign of letting up regardless of the score. I'm not saying that I would keep my starters in, or even be throwing the ball unless it was my reserves. I'm just saying that I'm not straying away from my game plan because a team is not as good as mine. I think the running clock thing is junk. Don't change the rules of the game to benefit bad teams. They win as a team and they lose as a team. If a butt whoopin on the field ruins their life, they shouldn't be playing. They need to take humility and work harder to try and return the favor.

South Laurel/Corbin Predictions
Yep 91 was the highest home score. I don't know if this one will be able to top that 62-42 Middlesboro game a few years ago. That was the craziest game I've seen. It was 42-42 with 3 minutes left.

South Laurel/Corbin Predictions
Bell scored 55 a couple years ago. Corbin has put up 69 or so a time or two I think. They beat North Laurel 63-7 a few years back at home. Id say it's possible that a few 70 point games occured in the hay day. Most of Corbin's high scoring games have seemed to come on the road. I think they scored 69 on Adair County and beat Middlesboro 63-7 in 04.

2a rankings after 3 weeks?
Danville does have the advantage with the win over SW. I'm the type that think polls are junk regardless when it comes down to it because nobody can really see every team place. Also I don't buy into the team A beat Team B but Team C beat team B so team C would beat team A stuff. If polls do ever have any validity, it will not truly shape up until about week 6 in my opinion.

2a rankings after 3 weeks?
I know I am a Corbin fan but I would probably but Corbin at 5 and Danville at 6 or 7. I got to watch both teams this year and just wasn't impressed with Danville compared to years past. They had a lot of speed but didn't seem to be able to hold blocks on the OL.
