Corbin 2008/2009

Featured Replies

What does Corbin need to do to improve in 2008/2009? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Hound should be pretty stacked. They have the definite talent advantage this year in the region. I know games are determined on the court but in a figurative sense, they would almost have to try and lose region this year.

They need Crawford to be healthy. Other than that they should be a force this year.

From all accounts that I've heard, Crawford is 100% and healthier than ever. I look for another 20 and 12 type season out of him.

Corbin is the hands down favorite.

You said the same thing last year Les. Steve Wright and the Cards of South Laurel are the champs until someone ends their season. Why put a big monkey on the backs of the Hounds? Coach Wright owns the zoo. The proof is in the pudding, South has dominated the region since they joined it. Coach Wright has a periminant seat at Rupp on the sidelines, Roscoe has recorded songs about his ventures to the Sweet 16. Hounds have a lot of talent, but can they win the big one when it matters? I think Clay maybe a real underdog along with Harlan County. Both have solid coaches and a few players to help the cause.

Yeah and they should have won the region. Remember, Corbin was up double digits with around 5 minutes left against South in the regional finals.

Also, losing Bortnem is going to be huge for South this season. The Cardinals have lost a lot of talent the past three years and it might catch up with them this season. (They are still talented).

Corbin should win the region this season, if they don't, I would be SHOCKED, but don't count out Clay County.

It may not catch up with them either.

1. South

2. Corbin

3. Clay

4. Bell Co.

My predictions for the final four of the region. Region is at Bell this year unless they move it to the Civic Center....lol

I'll go with Harlan County in that four spot, even though Bell and Middlesboro are ahead going into the season.

Corbin looked great last year. I'd say they will do vey well this year.

Why would the region be at Bell? Last time the 52nd had the region it was at JACHS, so wouldn't that mean it would be Middlesboro's turn?

The district changed, so it starts over with Bell. Harlan County is next in 2013.

Thanks for the information. Next question, where will district be held this year, will it still be split in half with one school having girls and one having boys or combined? Will it be Harlan's turn or Harlan County's? How do you determine which school comes first?

*Sorry, I realize this has nothing to do with Corbin.

The region is at North Laurel in 2009-10.

Then Whitley County the following year, then Knox Central and then Harlan County. I can't wait for the help from HDE when it's at Harlan in 2012-13.
