Corbin was only up 3 to 0 at the half. A bunch of points were put on the board in the second half.

Both teams played sluggish in the first half but give both teams d credit. Corbin did alot of shuffling on defense with a bunch of kids glad to see Roman Mitchell on the d he can be a big help my over all thoughts was good game by both but glad the Hounds pulled it off.

Rule 13

Only 3 points in the first half due to some terrific defensive plays on both sides. The 2nd half was an offensive explosion. Fritz had 3 TDs for Corbin and Bowling threw 2 TDs (now at 15 on the season and 112 in his career #7 all time). Both coaches did excellent jobs in adjusting their offense at the half to get something going.

 

South continues to hurt themselves with costly penalties. Twice giving Corbin 1st down by getting drawn offsides. Very exciting game to watch.

 

What a weapon Campbell is as a kicker as well as LB. He put all but 2 kickoffs into the end zone and his 25 yard field goal in the first half was a no doubter, would have been good from 40.

Corbin is one of the best teams in the Mountains, not enough credit goes there.

You could be correct in your assessment of the Hounds. I thought the line looked kinda unmotivated in the first half. The second half they picked it up, but were so tired on Defense, South picked them apart. I can not understand why Corbin does not have more depth on both sides of the ball. Numbers look pretty good, decent size, but no minutes. For the Hounds to roll deep in the playoffs, some needed help must come from the bench. Lambdin was lost in a JV or Freshman game recently, Foley is out for the season. This maybe the weakest South Laurel team they have had for the passed 6 or 7 years. One kid on the defensive line looked about 5'3 and could not weigh more than 145 pounds. I thought the Hounds would win more convincingly.

This isn't the weakest team South has had in six or seven years.

Just one man's opinion. I could be wrong. I did not see much size or speed compared to a few seasons ago.

The reason you didn't see much speed is because Corbin was pounding South as soon as they caught the ball. Steven Quillen is the fastest kid South has had in a LONG time.

If Bowling is slow, then I don't know what's going on. He was juking for his life out there and made a negative play into a positive. You gotta have some wheels to do that.

I agree.

Coach Jewell does a great job with the defense and coach Farris does a great job with the offense. Lance Freeman made some CLUTCH passes tonight.

South has a much better team than I had anticipated. Congrats to the Hounds on a tough win!!

I thought this South team was better than last year's team . . . but then again that's just my opinion. With the way Ricky Bowling is handling the ball he will break Tim Couch's record easily this season. Good luck to the Cardinals for the rest of the season and GO HOUNDS!!!!
