WOW! Congrats to the bears and Nathaniel on a heck of a game. I've saw some 300 plus yard games down here in Corbin but this effort right here is probably the best rushing game in this state since Moore's Monquantae Gibson had 520 something back in 2001. Keep up the good work.

If you noticed I said most years. I wasn't wanting to slight Lynn Camp or Williamsburg in the least bit. There have been years when they can compete and even win in Williamsburg's case back in 2004. However, on a regular basis, there is not much doubt that Corbin would probably wipe the floor with these teams. I really and truly didn't intend on that being a slight to the teams. I can't reiterate that enough.

Here is my ideal Corbin schedule. District Games Middlesboro Knott County Central Leslie County Pigskin- ex: Danville, Boyle, Belfry, Pikeville, Hazard, LCA, LexCath, etc Other Bowl: ex: Danville's bowl, Pike Co, Ray Correll, etc 5 remaining games. Bell County Harlan County Whitley/South alternate two year contracts Lynn Camp/Williamsburg alternate two year contracts but play at Corbin for seating. North Laurel, Somerset, Rock, Wayne Co, Knox Central This scenario would benefit the Hounds and prepare them well for the playoffs. -They would receive good solid competition in the two bowl games. -Renew a rivalry with Bell County -Start a new rivalry with Harlan County -Whitley and South would provide solid competition yet should usually be winable games but allow them to face stiff competion and good gates. - Lynn Camp and Williamsburg would more than likely be confidence builder games for Corbin but allow the smaller teams a chance for bragging rights. It would also provide a good gate for both teams. -The last sector of games could vary and provide a good atmosphere at each game.

I too would love to see this game added back to the schedule. It's probably the best rivalry in Eastern Kentucky between the two biggest traditional powerhouses along with Belfry, Hazard, Pikeville, Breathitt, Pburg, and Middlesboro. The game is tagged "King of The Mountains" for a reason. It's not a team A is afraid to play team B type of deal. I don't necessarily think it's an Ego deal but can see how it is interpreted. I don't want to say for certain because I'm not 100% positive but I believe from all accounts, that it was can celled due to bad blood between Dudley Hilton and Steve Jewell. If that is the case, I do not think personal feelings should end such a great rivalry. Corbin has dominated the overall series but over the past 15-20 years once Bell became relevant, it has became a toss up each year. Every so often Corbin or Bell will blow the other out but generally it's a great game. The game should be played because it is a game that both teams get up for. The fans get up for it as do the entire community. However, sometimes things don't go as we want.

OK, had me worried a bit. I was thinking there may have been an injury or suspension being kept under wraps. You're right though about North. They won't confuse any team as being a contender but they aren't nearly as bad of a program as their record indicates. I remember last year, they rallied and made Corbin work for that win. Same thing happened a few years ago up at North. Each game, the Hounds seemed to have gotten a lead and went into relax mode only to let North back into it. With some of the talent up on the North side of London, they can sneak up and bite ya if you aren't careful. Being 7-0 teams are taking notice and that just makes the target that much bigger. There is no room for let downs. Play the game like the coaches teach and things will be good for the Hounds.

As much tradition as Middlesboro has and as much respect for them that I have, they have the most stubborn D ever. I don't know if I have ever watched a Middlesboro game where they bring a variety of defenses. Manns, French, Watkins, and Sewell could have big games. I would like to see the D step it up a little better. Adams is an unreal talent but Dominique Hayden he is not.

What is scary is that the best running back on the field may have been over on the sidelines in street clothes. That's taking nothing away from Watkins and Hayden. Both are GREAT GREAT players. I'm just talking about how talented the running backs in this game were. Caleb has all sorts of potential. This kid is Jarrod Lawson with a 4.47 instead of a 4.74. He has been a pleasure to watch in his first two seasons and this year seems to be even more of a pleasure. I cannot wait to see him as a senior. As sure as I'm sitting here typing this, you know good and well that he will come into next year about 215-220, benching 350 and still moving like a jet plane. I would say that tonight, the coaches who may have not heard of him just took notice.
