The train rolls on. Hot and difficult first half for the Birds on their first game on grass. They go up 1 to 0 on a Porter Hedenburg goal during a scramble after a free kick. That was the score at half. Early in the second, Luke Schweitzer was fouled at the top of the 18 and Mike Pernod bent and dipped the ensuing free kick just under the cross bar and into the far upper 90 to make it 2 to 0. Birds go up 3 - 0 on a late Max Farris insurance goal. That was that. Now...the best part by far! My boy (not child, but amigo) Will Hochleutner returned to the field!!! 5 months after tearing his ACL, the world’s greatest teammate made his comeback. It was awesome. He played well and will be a big part of the Birds success as they move into October. Great to have you back, Will!

#1 is Huddleston. He is the one player that everyone has been excited about since he was in 3rd grade.

Who do you think will win Mr. Soccer 2018? In my mind, it comes down to Cox from St. X and McMannus at Trinity, right? I know that the other Javanon player from Elizabethtown is a stud as well, but the team success that those two have achieved on top of being integral players puts them out in front.

Or Coldiron. I think that he is a better offensive threat, and pretty close defensively.

Birds win on Carter Holmes penalty. Caymon Stevie was fouled in the box. #26 for Collegiate is legit. Best player I have seen so far this season.

Middle school kids looked good for the one 7th and one 8th grade teams that I saw.

Let me start by saying that #9 for Holmes is fun to watch. He's the kind of player that gets lost here in the US. His high school team is not very good and I'm not sure if he can afford club or not. He has serious talent, and would be a great pickup for an Academy type team. That being said, Highlands goal bonanza saw 2 players get their first Varsity goals. Jackson Lehrter heads in 2 crosses from Max Farris (he added an assist as well) and George Gates got his first on a rebound and volley. The other scorers were Luke Schweitzer with 2 (6 on the season), Carter Holmes with 2 (4), Demetri Sarakatsannis (3), Caymon Stevie (8), Cary Gorrigan (4),

Bro science or not, I completely agree. I make my sons run outside to get ready for tryouts starting in June. Not bc it makes them tough, but bc of this reasoning. I believe it allows them to acclimate as the temperatures rise through the summer and is easier on their bodies as work gets more strenuous.

As some of you know, I am a NewCath guy with kids at Highlands, BUT I love watching my sons play them. Caymon Stevie with 2 against my Alma Mater. Porter Hedenberg with two sensational goals and Luke Schweitzer gets #4.

Luke Schweitzer opened the scoring in the first 5 minutes. 3 minutes later, Caymon Stevie scored to give the Birds the early 2 goal lead. St Henry came back and scored, to bring it to 2 to 1. Stevie got his brace a little later to make it 3 to 1. That is how it ended.

Birds get goals on a mazy run from Porter Hedenberg to set up Luke Schweitzer and a penalty from Carter Holmes set up by a nice run from Max Farris.

1994. R.I.P. Jimmy Assman. That team just lost a great player and an even better person.

CAL played w/out their starting QB. I know that you have to beat the team that is in front of you, but a team w/out their starting QB isn't the same team.

Let’s see how the CAL regular season game goes. That will set the barometer. They have the weapons on the outside this year to contend.

Birds win 7 to 0 on the Serengeti that was Claryville. Holy schnikes it was hot to start. Birds go up half way through the first half as Max Farris latched on to a Carter Holmes looping through ball and slotted it far corner. 5 minutes later Jackson Lehrter was fouled with a step towards goal. The ensuing 20 yard free kick hit the wall but fell to Cary Gorrigan who finished to make it 2 to 0. It went into tha half at that score. 4 minutes into the second half, Porter Hedenberg heaved a long throw to Caymon Stevie in the box for a headed goal. Alex Ford added to the lead a few minutes later on a rebound to make it 4 to 0. A backheel assist from Lehrter to Demetri Saratkasanis made it 5 to 0. 3 minutes later Max Farris recorded his brace. A flying Saratkasanis header on a sweet cross from Keegan Brewer finished it out. Birds play the Grassless St Henry Crusaders on Thursday on the turf at Tower Park.

Moving Cain to WR gives them 4 threats for Kramer to hit. IMO Hezekiah Miller will break out soon and be the surprise of the season for NKY football.

When a player is about to be in on goal w/ nobody b/n him and the goal but the goalie and you intentionally foul him, it is deemed so, yes.
