The train rolls on. Hot and difficult first half for the Birds on their first game on grass. They go up 1 to 0 on a Porter Hedenburg goal during a scramble after a free kick. That was the score at half. Early in the second, Luke Schweitzer was fouled at the top of the 18 and Mike Pernod bent and dipped the ensuing free kick just under the cross bar and into the far upper 90 to make it 2 to 0. Birds go up 3 - 0 on a late Max Farris insurance goal. That was that.

Now...the best part by far! My boy (not child, but amigo) Will Hochleutner returned to the field!!! 5 months after tearing his ACL, the world’s greatest teammate made his comeback. It was awesome. He played well and will be a big part of the Birds success as they move into October. Great to have you back, Will!

5 months after tearing his ACL? I’m no doctor, but isn’t that a really quick comeback? Either way, awesome for the kid to get back on the field!

Very quick.
