Yes they did. LexCath couldn’t get any momentum at all and Highlands defense deserves all of that credit. They pressured Allen nonstop and he never seemed comfortable in the second half.

Glad to see Highlands getting back to their old ways. It just doesn’t feel right when they’re struggling as a program.

Highlands stomped on the pedal during the second half. Their defense was hungry and they ate. Late in the game they were forcing the QB out of the pocket with a two man rush. I must say they look the part, kids appear to be in shape.

I definitely agree on Highlands' fitness level.

Good win for the Birds. Seemed really evenly matched first half. Second half Highlands' defense adjusts and shuts down the previously successful Lex Cath run game. They ran a strange looking defense formation that was way more effective than I would have guessed. Highlands Defense is pretty good and they adjust well coming out of the half. Huddy snatching the ball from the WR and scoring a TD was the last nail.

 

Highlands Offense looked effective as well. When they have two backs in the backfield they seem to really get the jump on the blocks. Highlands WRs looked really good, deep passing game really blossomed to what I hoped tonight.

 

Lex Cath's QB is really good, their passing seemed super effective especially to the outside. Sure handed WRs running good routes, a tough running back picking up chunks here and there. Seemed like first downs were effortless. Second half the passing was still there but not enough, the run game was shut down along with costly penalties and turnovers.

 

I'm not sure what Highlands does in the locker room at half time but it is working out.
