  1. Where are these kids going? Here are the ones I know of who have already given verbal commitments. 2. I talked with some St X fans who were at the X vs Lex Cath game. They said that the final 3 quarters of that game, they would have put Burke's performance right there with Brohm and they believed that Brohm was the best HS QB they had ever seen in person. They felt that NC State got a STEAL with this kid and it appears that they were right! That TD/INT ratio is insane.
  3. I would pick (as my top 5-6 in no particular order): Burke, Fidler, Black, Morgan, Simpson & Fritz. Durrell is an excellent athlete who has put up some outstanding numbers. However, quality of opposition is a HUGE factor. Hazard's strength of schedule is currently #213 out of 220 teams in Kentucky. If he can go out and put up some good numbers against much stiffer competition, then it helps his numbers gain credibility.
  4. The other back from St X, Michael Mattingly, is drawing interest from several Ivy League schools. He is one bright young'en!
  5. I think RB Rod Johnson at Henry Clay is getting some looks.
  6. I agree with all of those, except that I don't think any of them are actually students which would probably eliminate them from this competition. But TD Timmy is the biggest fan, no doubt. He does have favorites though each season. The past couple of years it was Nik Blair and this year he has a couple of faves since he NB graduated. But the players LOVE him!
  7. I would have to see their stats first. 1. How fast they get to an injured player (more than 10.1 is unacceptable) 2. Does everyone get enough water on a break 3. Are towels available to all skill position players and the center/snapper 4. How fast can they work out a cramp 5. If there ice readily accessible for sprains, etc Without these types of stats, it would be hard to say who is the 'best'! All kidding aside, the crew at NL does an excellent job and are considered a valuable part of the team. The seniors will be part of senior night this season as well they should be. They work their butts off for the team.
  8. You can tell who you are if you choose. But Rule #5 states: 5. No divulging or attempting to determine any member's true identity. That includes dropping hints about a user's identity or asking a member who he or she is in a public forum. Just a friendly FYI!!! :thumb:
  9. Easy for me Dooney Sizemore from Laurel County High School in the late 1970's against an opponent I cannot remember. It was on a kickoff and on the film, Dooney comes into frame and hits an opponent so hard that it literally flipped him over completely backwards. The player had to be carried off of the field. It was the nastiest but cleanest hit I have ever seen in high school football. Years later, the coaches would show that play to up and coming players to fire them up. Truthfully, it scared me to death.
  10. You underestimate me if you think I would ever want to deprive any kid of a meal or penalize them for that. I was just pointing out that 'financial aid' is a very generic term which exists in public as well as private schools. Nothing more, ... nothing less.
  11. Classification in football in Kentucky has been around for around 50 years. Are there any states which don't have classification levels for football and have just one state champion?
  12. There exists financial aid in the public school system as well. The free/reduced price lunch program, etc. That term is too generic.
  13. Bowling Green played the AAAA team considered the best overall in the state and defending AAAA state champion and barely lost. I wouldn't have penalized them either. While no rankings are perfect (read the arguments about the AP, Cantrell, etc) and noone agrees totally with ANY poll. I can assure you that from what I have seen, the BGP 'powers that be' put in a lot of thought and time, .. much more than the AP. AND, did you see any teams classified wrong by BGP? I don't think so. If so, let me know because I missed it. A poll is an opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Come on Jbwill2, do you think your 'power rankings' which only included teams that you chose were more accurate? IMHO, this is an early season poll and by the time district play begins, you will see a lot of movement!
  14. Thoughts and prayers from London.
  15. I hope he does as well. Any kid who has a thread started about him questioning whether he can do the job will probably have that much more motivation to perform and be even better off! Often times coaches sons catch more grief, but sometimes, they have a more complete understanding of the game than many others at their age. I hope that he tears it up in 2005! :thumb:
  16. All of the programs I follow require the QB to work just as hard as anybody else. At least if they want to be successful!
  17. If you are eating the right food and working out very hard, this is very possible. Especially when you are talking about a 15-16 year old boy. However, if he has put on that much weight, it may mean that he is closed to finished growing.
