I can only see a select few schools willing to do something like this, and those schools are probably usually playing in it anyway.

I saw one of the worst calls ever in the Paintsville/Jtown game last night. The kid from Jtown jumps forward trying to draw a foul on a shot in the last minute or two. The kid from Pville is standing on the ground and the kid brushes against him and the ref actually calls it. For those that were there, that was absolutely terrible. I like the big tall ref with dark hair from WKY. He does a good job and is always in control of the game. He did the tournament last year as well.

Don't know about that now. MC will have a tough way to go after they played a tough one against Elliott. I was not impressed with MC.

Since you brought it up, I'll say S3 buys lunch. We should plan something up for tomorrow.

I didnt understand the gibberish at the first of the post, but I take it you are disagreeing with my post. UK does not get blown out every year by UT. They have beat them in the last couple of years and play with them or end up losing by the 10-15 point range. UT has one of the best women players ever right now, and they dont put it on UK right now. Like I said, the strength and speed is a major factor that helps the men and makes the difference.

Should be there all day. We headed out to eat with some people on Nicholasville Road after the first session anyway. We are planning on sticking around and getting something in the vicinity of the Arena on Friday. No reason to get out in that mess of a traffic situation that always exists in Lexington on a Friday. Ugh.

Louis Seeger could be a good one out of Bethlehem in the coming years. I believe he is going to be a freshman.

Definitely a nice dunk. Wasn't expecting him to rise up and dunk the ball when he caught it there.

Some of the games would be pretty close. If you put UT, UConn, etc. against, Holmes, LC, or Mason Co., I honestly think the women would get beat pretty good. The athleticism and strength are on a different level with those teams, not to mention the size advantage those teams possess. I played with UK's women's team a lot while I was at UK, so I have some experience here. I was a bench player on a pretty darn good high school team, and we had several other guys that played that probably werent college bball material either. Not to mention theses guys werent as big as LC, as athletic as Holmes, or as talented as Mason Co. We played right with these girls and we were all marginal high school players. I realize UK's women are not UT or UConn, but they aren't that far off.

There isnt, but if you are a player like him you dont need to take the chance on a block/charge call. Put the ball in the basket. They needed points as they were down at this point anyway. What about Edmondson? Has he always jumped that far forward on his shot? If you can jump that far forward on a regular jumper, I say your ankle is fine.

33 is one of those Moorman kids. I think they had 2. This game was kind of a yawner. Owensboro seemed fairly well coached, but will be overmatched in round 2.

Holmes and Lex Cath will be a VERY interesting match up. Very good chance they could wear one another out in the semis before the big game Saturday night.

Most entertaining game of the day easily. Slone looked like a heck of a scorer today. Jtown had nobody that was even close to being able to defend him. I really think if Jtown hadnt pressed so much things would have worked out better for them. Slone kept crossing his guy over against the pressure and was able to create a lot of baskets. It's weird saying it, but if this Lville school had made Paintsville play a half court game they may have faired a little better. Seemed like a lot of baskets after beating the pressure. Interesting thing to note from the game, all 10 of the guys on the floor at the end of the game were in double figures. You arent going to see that much at the Sweet16.

He did get some bad calls, but he wasnt giving any effort before he got in foul trouble either. I have never seen such a talented player give so little effort and generally just not care. That is no respect for the game in my opinion. He could probably be the best player in the nation if he figured out how to try just a little bit. I've seen some talented players take plays off, but the guy never does anything on the defensive end of the floor besides get rebounds that are in his vicinity anyway. Hopefully someone can straighten him out in a couple of years. That said, I was not impressed with Edmondson that much either. Ugly jumper and not a great finisher either. Struggled against the press, but a lot of guards do that against LC. Sanford was the best player on this day of the Sweet 16. Put the ball in the basket and was just ridiculous on D. I bet he got in his hands on the ball at least 20 times through deflections, tips, or steals.

We all know a Single A mountain school is going to be an underdog to a bigger "Golden Triangle" school.

Does he always jump that far forward on his jumper? I dont know how he could be consistent on that. Hopson passed up a lot of open jumpers. I thought he shot better than that. Has a bad habit of running into/over people as well. Several times he would cause contact you dont want to call or got charging calls (questionable ones I will concede) instead of pulling up for the short jumper that he could assuredly jump over them to get off. Looks like the kid needs to learn about the mid range game. Kind of thought he was a little more passive than he should be as well.

Don't know the story but have heard from several folks that Jackson's family is originally from Lexington.

No doubt. Edmondson didn't look like near the player people have made him out to be either. At least he played pretty hard though.

Tamron Manning could round out that starting five as a freshman. He is a very good prospect to be a D1 player, so that could be 5 on one squad.
