Holmes looked very strong tonight and I expect to definitely see them playing on Saturday morning. They are a far more disciplined Holmes team then I have seen in recent years. Congrats to Coach Henley and the Bulldogs and good luck on friday.

 

Now off to the Radisson and the Hotel Lounge for a couple of adult beverages. This sure beats staying somewhere that you have to drive back and forth to.

Just got back to my hotel room from the game.

 

Holmes dominated from start to finish. A little sloppy in the first half but picked it up in the second half. Holmes could have probably won this one by 30+ if they wanted. Henley, being a class act started pulling the starters and key reserves midway through the 4th with a 25 point lead.

 

Bardstown really struggled against Holmes pressure defense and the forced turnovers showed. For Bardstown, Hickman is a nice player.

 

The game changing moment was the end of the second quarter and start of the third quarter where Holmes went on 18-4 run.

 

Avery played solid at the point. A couple turnovers but when you finish the night with 5 steals and 5 assists, thats a solid night.

 

Sophomores Elijah Pittman and Ricardo Johnson both played huge for Holmes tonight and had two nice dunks. Pittman was 3 for 3 from the field with 10 points. R. Johnson had 11 points, 6 boards, and 2 assists.

 

Henderson finished with 6 points with 4 of them coming on dunks.

 

All in all Holmes looked really good tonight. I don't think there is anyone else in the field who can play with them outside of Lexcath and Mason Co. Those two are the only two who have the depth to beat them. Bardstown was worn out by the second half and it showed.
