Last I checked 23 of 52 is 44% which is about what most teams shoot consistently. If you are hitting about half your shots I think you are doing fine. Not to mention the Dawgs defense is the best down there right now. I think the FT's will hurt them more than anything. Holmes has missed a lot of gimme's all year as they did in the Highlands game but they also create a lot of high percentage shots and flush the toilet more than any team I have seen this year. Their main concern on Friday needs to be putting Arrez on Slone and holding him to 14-18 points. Arrez shut down the kid from SL last year and I expect him to do the same on Landen.

Something to think about....this is the 30 year anniversary of the Holmes team who lost on the no call goaltend in the 78 state finals.

 

From Dick Beal in the enquirer today:

 

"It's very nostalgic, to say the least," Beal said. "It's 30 years since the 1978 game. It would be fitting if they won it this year. I'm honored, but I'm more happy for the kids."

Very nice, and fun game to watch if you were a Holmes fan. The four first half dunks were pretty neat to see. And yes, this game could of been alot worse. Holmes will need to play even better friday, if they wan't to advance.

 

Side note: Henderson will be visiting LTU after this tournament.

That has been Henderson's trademark spot all year and where many of his dunks have come from.

 

He has probably pulled that dunk off over at least 50% of all 9th region Varsity basketball starters off the last 3 years. :lol::lol:

Karl Malone wasn't to shabby of a La Tech Bulldog either, ah yes this is a Bulldog thread after all, Go Dawgs! Holmes that is.

Aside from the 4 Holmes dunks in the first half, this was a pretty boring game. Bardstown was just completely overmatched.

Probably so. He was doing that as a sophomore and freshman. I can still remember the dunk he had over Guidugli his sophomore year against Highlands when they were REALLY good.

 

One thing's for sure, Henderson is a very special player and will be missed by the Bulldog faithful next year. Here's to hoping he goes out with a bang though and brings home one last piece of hardware before the end of his career.
