Isn't the period around July the only time to play a team from across the pond? July is during their pre-season, training and all correct? But a friendly of any kind could get anyone hurt as well, especially our Aussie Harrison Delbridge, who about 10 days ago after a collision lifted his head up and in the stands you could clearly see the entire right side of his face all bloody, he played the rest of the match too. Then last Wednesday, 4 days later, in the Cup match at Tampa Bay, after a collision he raises his head and he had a lot of blood coming out of a gash above his right eye, and he finished that match as well. He tweeted late that night that someone at the airport asked him if he was an MMA or jiujutsu fighter lol. What does the Cup tourney mean? If it's not counting in your league standings why risk your starters? To me, a team like FCC our Lou City have nothing to loose, of course injury but that it there anytime. But, play an EPL team, get the MLS eyes on you, play well and really get their interest. Who did Lou City play in that friendly last year?

Had a discussion with a relative yesterday who said that parents have a difficult time many times watching kids, but a couple minutes later when told that this lady had a total of 4 kids with her then they said "that's too many kids for one person to have to look out for". THIS is my point, as I agree, too many for one person to look out for, therefore she MAYBE shouldn't go out alone with that many kids BUT, I'm not saying it's her fault, but she did have her hands full, and as I have said before, she knows her kid more than we know, and it's very possible that he is the type of kid who is a "pistol" so to speak and runs off on his own, possibly but heck we don't know. BUT, all I wanted was that the courts and all look into this, then did, and the prosecutors office and I also assume CPS looked into it and decided not to press charges, I'm fine with that, since they did look into it. Well, I left FCC with a 1-0 lead with 5 minutes left in regular time. Then watched the scoreboard screen for a couple of minutes from on top of the parking garage and saw the onslaught of attempts by Richmond being denied. Then I walk less than 100 feet then told that Richmond tied it up? :(

I was going to put this in the Beechwood/Highlands 9th region final thread but decided to put it here as its not really about the game. Should Beechwood even have been in the finals? Or the regionals for that matter? As it seemed that the thinking was 5 run or more losses were said to be the deciding point of not being close, and since Beechwood lost 7-1. The fact that all baseball teams are in one class is enough for me, as I think it would be very rare that a sub par team would win a region. I'm happy with this set up with all teams playing for one title, but I am also glad for the All A, as isn't that still about half of the states teams? It's not as bad as football with 6 classes. In baseball a 5 or so run lead can disappear within one inning, as we saw when Beechwood played Conner this week, didn't they score 5 runs in a late inning? In football it would be a lot harder to come back from a 3 or so TD deficit. All and all I have no issues with the baseball playoffs, and I like how as in basketball that the district runner-up also qualifies for the region, all districts are not the same, some will have two or more deserving teams to advance to the regional. Such as with NCC/Highlands and Conner/Ryle, it would be a crime so to speak not to have the runner up in their districts in the regional, and let's not forget about CovCath as a runner up to Beechwood this year. I do wish that mandatory seeding should be in place, not only for baseball, but basketball as well.
