  1. I doubt the number of unhappy fans at Monroe is any more than anywhere else. Anyone that doesn't understand Coach Petett is a great coach doesn't know much about football, but no worries because if those fans (I use that word loosely) exist those fans will graduate with their children and not be heard of again. BTW, things must not be too bad because there are 76 kids playing football this year, that doesn't sound like numbers a bad coach would have...
  2. Must be nice to exceed expectations... Congrats Falcons...
  3. Thanks, I know you’re right but to be honest I didn’t think they could play so poorly and uninspired. I know Coach Petett will fix that problem, but seeing that side of them was/is a little alarming. Improvements is the key word, truth be told we probably learned more last night than we would have if it had been 50-6… I agree. I hope your right about being ready for the next 4 games, it may be the toughest four game stretch in 2A football. 4A Franklin-Simpson 4-1 2A Glasgow 3-3 BGP #10 2A Green Co. 5-1 BGP #6 3A Allen County Scottsville 5-0 BGP #3
  4. I just can't help but feel like tonight was a loss. If we had played Glasgow or Green tonight we would have got smoked... I thought I had a pretty good idea of who and what we were, now I'm not so sure. BTW,do you know if we play with a synthetic ball? I noticed it after the game tonight and it looked like the new synthetic (PETA friendly) ball, if it is that might explain why Jackson's passes were off the mark, I have heard that the synthetic ball doesn't grip anything like a leather ball when it gets wet...
  5. Not a good game from the Falcons tonight. For every step forward we have taken this season it seems we took 5 steps back tonight, the OL is the biggest disappointment too many times they were caught standing around while their guy was making a play, sad… One bright spot was the defense in the second half, Troy Wyatt was an animal tonight, I appreciate his effort and intensity. Still not happy with the DE play, I think Colby Hamilton may be just the guy to fix that problem, he had a great second half at nose guard I would like to see him play some end.
  6. Big win for Green. I listened to the post game show on Green Co.'s radio station and it appears the game was close for a while but Green took over late. Green is no doubt the better team, however that doesn't mean Griff is the better coach. It appears Green should be the favorite for the district after Monroe's performance tonight...
  7. Because Coach Wood can do more with less. Because Coach Wood's teams don't have stupid penalties over and over. Because Coach Wood is a professional and well respected by others. But most of all, because Coach Wood respects those around him and understands the impact of coaching 14-18 year old kids and the impact he can have on them, you won't hear things on Coach Wood like you will Grff, I'll leave it at that... Coach Griff is great at one thing… Making you appreciate having guys like Petett, Wood and Harbison…
  8. Green Co. has that effect on a lot of Monroe Co. fans. It used to be unfathomable to root for Glasgow, but since I have been exposed to Green Co. it seems easy to say "Go Scotties"!!!:thumb:
  9. Monroe 42-6 at halftime. Final Monroe 48 Metcalfe 20
  10. Metcalfe is 2-0 at home and I'm sure they will do their best to keep that streak alive, but in the end it won't be enough, I say Monroe wins big... I've never really cared much about stats but I hope Neil Wilson can catch up on some yardage in this game, I would love for him to finish with 1,000 yards or more on the season, he currently has 16 catches/8 TD's and about 400 yards. This is the first district game for the Falcons and the last team we will face that we have a clear advantage over in terms of talent and depth. I hope we take the opportunity to work hard and get better because we do have a lot of things we can improve on and a brutal 4 game stretch follows this one...
  11. Jackson Arnett 3-5 for 76 yards and 3 TD's Neil Wilson 2 catches for 36 yards and 2 TD's Chad Wilson 7 rushes for 97 yards and a TD Tanner Kendall 20 rushes for 118 for three TD's and a 90 yard KO return for TD J.W. Vickery 2 Int's one for a TD as well as fumble recovery.
  12. These teams share one common opponent, LaRue Co. Both teams lost that game, Green lost 28-27 Glasgow lost 28-24.
  13. Big time matchup in district 3 this week as 3-2 Glasgow travels to 4-1 Green Co., both teams are ranked in the top 10 and both teams know the significance of this game and the playoff implications as well. IMO Glasgow is the better coached team but Green has the edge in talent and depth, however, I think the gap in coaching is more than the gap in personnel. Glasgow 21 Green 20
  14. I'd say two TD's is about right. FC actually needs a good hard fought game IMO, It's hard for a team to see what they need to work on when they aren’t challenged. A challenge IMO will do FC good... FC 35 WC 22
  15. A few of my observation's, *Neil Wilson is a lot more than just a great receiver. *Chad Wilson may be the best 14 year old in the state, he's just one of the talented freshmen on this team that already has wins against Bowling Green and Warren Central. *For the first time this season we saw the real Tanner Kendall, when he hits the hole like he did Friday night good things will happen. *Very well coached game, the goal was simple, run the ball hard, dominate the line of scrimmage and keep the chains moving, if we hadn't done that we might still be playing. Logan Co. threw the ball 95% of the time and it seemed the clock never moved when they had the ball. *Second qtr was one of the worst qtrs I’ve seen Monroe play in two years, these guys need to understand that the time to let up is when Coach Petett tells you take your pads off or the final horn sounds.
  16. Thanks for clearing that up. It's easy to understand why Coach Graves was so upset considering it was his son. Good luck to Adair Co. the rest of the season...
  17. PT is going through some rough time's right now with players quitting and a second year coach that may be on his farewell tour, what’s worse is they have to play FC... FC as many as they want PT a lot less than FC
  18. Logan beat Metcalfe by 20 Barren beat Metcalfe by 35 Monroe beat Barren by 20 I see this one being close until kickoff… No offense to Logan but I think this one will most likely be over by halftime…
  19. This is a barometer game for me, it will gauge where Glasgow is and Green Co. as well. My opinion so far has been that Glasgow can beat Green if they can grind it out for four quarters and limit their mistakes, so long story short I think Glasgow can beat LaRue if they do those same things... Glasgow 21 LaRue Co. 20
  20. I'd say 40-21 is about right. I'll be looking for some improvement from the game with Barren, we simply have to fix whatever is wrong on the right side of our defense, we haven't given up much on defense but what we have seems to be on that side. For the most part I see us getting better every week and it seems another playmaker emerges every week as well. Monroe Co. is solid right now but there is room for improvement and we're getting closer to a brutal four game stretch of Franklin-Simpson, Glasgow, Green Co. and Allen County Scottsville, so the time for improvement is now...
  21. No doubt, beating FC anywhere will be a monumental task. I just hope Monroe gets a shot to do it.
  22. I'm not ready to concede that. No doubt FC has the talent and the coaching to get there, but anything can happen. Last year Monroe had them down late in the game before Josh Carter took over on defense and FC walked away with the win, I realize that FC is advertised to be better than last year but I believe Monroe has the potential to be better as well, I know we have more weapons and most of those weapons are Jr.'s... Bottom line is if the cards play in our favor I would expect Monroe to give FC a game...
  23. Congratulations to Neil Wilson who came into Friday night 8th in the state in receiving added 98 yards and 2 TDS...
  24. I would like nothing more than for Green Co. and OC to lose by 1,000 points...
  25. On a brighter note, how about the new Falcon Band? I never imagined I would enjoy a Monroe Co. Band halftime show, but I did tonight. I also enjoyed the fact that they stuck around and was still playing after the final horn had sounded. In years past they would leave after halftime...
