Final

Falcons move to 5-0 on the season after defeating a pass happy Logan County Cougar team in Tompkinsville. After Monroe County took a 24-0 lead, Logan County got as close as 7 in the second quarter. Congratulations to J.W. Vickery for being named defensive player of the game after intercepting two passes tonight with one being returned for a TD and also recovering a fumble. Offensive player of the game goes to Tanner Kendall for rushing 20 times for 153 yards and 3 TD's. Freshman Chad Wilson had a excellent performance tonight rushing the ball seven times for 97 yards. A great job by all the falcons tonight as they get set to start district next week at Metcalfe County. Go Roe Go!!!!!!!

I guess I am a very proud parent to have one player of the game last week and one this week. Falcons looked very good early but lost a little intensity early in the second. I was extremely glad to see Kendall return to the old runner we knew he was, I talked to his father after the game and the passing of Tim Williams from FC had him a little shook up! He had extensive tests done to make sure he was alright and tonight he came back to us!!!! Freshman Chad Wilson had a great game at running back, not seeing him in the backfield before tonight, showing his ability to play with the big boys. I was super impressed with Coach Petett's play calling in what seemed to be the longest game of the season so far. Logan was really throwing the ball 90% of the time. VERY LONG GAME!!!!

Go Falcons!! 5-0 :notworthy:

Congratulations Monroe County Falcons!!

Congrats Falcons...another one down! We hope to see you later this year!!!

Good win for the Falcons. Agree with other posts we lost our edge on defense after getting big early lead. Have a special tie to Tanner Kendall glad to see him running again like last year. Chad Wilson is going to be like brother Neil one of the better players to ever suit up for Monroe. GO FALCONS.

Good job MC Falcons, hope to see you guys near the end of the season for some pizza.

Later.

Bill it will be a great pleasure to eat some good pizza with some fellow BGP's. If the team stays focused it will happen, but remember that our district is stacked with three of the top 10 teams...Tough road ahead!!!!

Your Falcons are going to be just fine. You beat Green twice last year so you are over the hump. Only really need to beat them once this year - in the playoffs.

A few of my observation's,

*Neil Wilson is a lot more than just a great receiver.

*Chad Wilson may be the best 14 year old in the state, he's just one of the talented freshmen on this team that already has wins against Bowling Green and Warren Central.

*For the first time this season we saw the real Tanner Kendall, when he hits the hole like he did Friday night good things will happen.

*Very well coached game, the goal was simple, run the ball hard, dominate the line of scrimmage and keep the chains moving, if we hadn't done that we might still be playing. Logan Co. threw the ball 95% of the time and it seemed the clock never moved when they had the ball.

*Second qtr was one of the worst qtrs I’ve seen Monroe play in two years, these guys need to understand that the time to let up is when Coach Petett tells you take your pads off or the final horn sounds.

Jackson Arnett 3-5 for 76 yards and 3 TD's

Neil Wilson 2 catches for 36 yards and 2 TD's

Chad Wilson 7 rushes for 97 yards and a TD

Tanner Kendall 20 rushes for 118 for three TD's and a 90 yard KO return for TD

J.W. Vickery 2 Int's one for a TD as well as fumble recovery.

Nice job SEMPERFIFALCON!

It is my opinion that it is Monroe's distric title to lose, not to win!!! The Region is also not as hard as I previously thought it would be...could very definately be heading to play FC this year!!!!

Fc will definately be tested by this Falcon squad, they are as tough or tougher than last years. They are are absolutely the hardest hitting sqaud I have ever watched play at Monroe, just ask Adair, Falcons sent two staters to hospital and the qb is out for the season!!!

When these kids hit you, you will know it next week...Falcons are fast and determined, and very hungry after a great season last year!
