  1. I think that the story is a bit overblown. What I read was an article where several former Cards players like Never Nervous Pervis we're interviewed and felt Payne would be who they think would be a good fit. I think for Average Joe and Jane fan, we want to just make it through this season respectably. i think discussing who will replace David Padgett is a mistake right now for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that these players WANT and CHOSE to play for him. Let's let the season play out, see how it goes, see what the NCAA does and if we can begin to truly move forward in the way would like. In the end, it doesn't affect the near term, so let's just enjoy a season with no real expectations for once. Any success will be a pleasant surprise. I also don't think the sky is falling because the Cats mopped the floor with us.
  2. Student - athlete transfers or all student transfers? Either way, really not a good policy. There are many reasons why it may occur, as there are many reasons why a student may transfer FROM Trinity, which actually happens more often than the reverse. If this young man was transferring to be a part of a competitive French Scrabble team (which Trinity has) no one would say a word. Good luck to this young man, whether he.he is staying where he or joining Trinity or any other school. Good Lord people! This is high school, and the only thing that is really at stake here is the best interests of CHILDREN. Let's keep this all in perspective.
  3. Random other note: my daughter was attacked as a child by my parents' border collie. My little toothless Brussels Griffin tried to bite my grandaughter the other day. And my little Havanese snapped at one of my sisters grandsons once. I don't leave any of my dog unattended with any child for sure, and usually not with adults either. I know their quirks and issues, and others don't. I'm not going to put my pets in a position to get in a position where they do something that someone could compel them to be put down.
  4. Only speaking to this one point: That's how I feel everytime a child is killed because someone left a loaded firearm in a place the child or another could find it and play with it.
  5. I have no idea about any of the hospitals on NKY. But I do know a lot about having tubes put in at a hospital. And it's never been a 15 minute procedure. My son had 4 sets of tubes put in between 1 year and 18 months. Thankfully, he had his tonsils and adenoids removed and tubes weren't needed after that. Like any outpatient procedure, there are pre-procedure things that have to be done, and recovery. A procedure itself may be 15 minutes. But even if done in a doctor's office, there is no way you will walk in and have the procedure done and walk out within 15 Minutes.
  6. Christmas is officially done at my house! All the decorations are taken down and put away, including the tree! I had them up for a record 4 weeks this year. They were lovely, but I sure am glad to have my house back to normal!
  7. And then there are people like me, who rarely cross a tolled bridge, but got a transponder that is EZ Pass compatible and set up an account just in case I need it. LOL
  8. I know for a fact that not all X players played for CSAA. I also know for a fact that students have transferred to X after their freshman year, some of which were athletes who played. And there is nothing wrong with any of that.
  9. Surprise me. But, I'd really rather not have a gift. I'd rather you be there for me when I need help throughout the year. I'm lucky. My kids are very aware of what I prefer.
  10. Stefan LeFors would create a huge conflict for me. I really like the guy, all duE to his days at UL. I don't want to dislike him. LOL
  11. I've listened to the entire podcast and read the entire story that KYCIR (not NPR) did. Just....wow! On so many fronts, just...wow.
  12. No, but my mom used to tan mine on the regular.
  13. Hmmm...do you have the option yo open a new tab, bookmark, etc?
  14. I don't have an iPhone, but I do use Chrome. At the top right of the browser, I have 3 dots. When that is opened, a list of options opens up, including Add to Homescreen
  15. I love gingerbread cake, gingerbread cookies, ginger snaps. Except for pumpkin pie, I'm all in for most holiday goodies!

  17. My grandmother would wrap a fruitcake in layers of cheesecloth, douse it all in bourbon and then freeze it for a month or so, adding more bourbon from time to time. She'd take it out of the freezer on Christmas Eve morning and by dinner time it was thawed and she would unwrap the cheese cloth and slice the cake...SOOOO good! You can also add bourbon to the batter, soak the dried fruit and nuts in Bourbon....I'm just sayin'...bourbon does a fruit cake good.
  18. Yes, and HECK yes for a bourbon soaked one.
