  1. There is now. Nice job. Prior to today, no word on the NDA volleyball position since Feb. 11. My point was simple. All are discussing a timeline for a new basketball coach, and the volleyball position took quite a bit of time to fill. Seemed appropriate to point out.
  2. This was huge. Big mistake on the Wildcats part not to foul and prevent a fast break layup.
  3. Cincinnati's oldie's station replays AT40's from the 80's every Sunday night. Great stuff. I often find myself sitting in the back yard listening to those replays like folks listen to Marty and Jeff. I often hear a song or two I hadn't heard in years when I am able to listen to that show. One that I came across recently, Rod Stewart. "Lost in You."
  4. 1. Subway 2. Wendy's 3. McDonald's 4. Taco Bell 5. BK
  5. IMO, James Brooks was the best the Bengals ever had. So dynamic, and a game changer. May have been one of the best in the NFL for a three or four year period. Pete Johnson was a fullback that could catch a pass, he did so many things for the Bengals. I loved watching him play as a kid. Funny thing is I think the Bengals traded Pete to get James.
  6. I voted for Gary Burley totally 100% because of bias on my part. There's a lot more to the story, that most won't get. But, he made a huge impact on a kid.
  7. Just for kicks, what I'd really like is to see an actual press release from the KTD, or an actual news story that explains why the Erlanger exits are closed as part of the project. These exits are only 10 miles and five exits/interchanges away, after all. That would be some good summer reading material right there. Zero chance we see a good answer.
  8. Best duo ever may have been Stockton and Malone. Talk about two guys playing well together and carrying a team for a long time. Jordan and Pippen. Magic and Kareem.
  9. Why was the kid there? Simple question. No good answer.
  10. I know they didn't ask for your opinion on the matter. I'm asking you for an opinion. If you want history, and tradition brought back to the tournament, how do you think that's going to be accomplished at Rupp Arena, in Lexington in March??? How can you see that playing out well?
  11. What does it seat? How many locker rooms? How would parking be with school in session and games played all day? How would this affect the Bellermine teams? I played in that building once, it's okay.
  12. It is what it is, but IMO the move to Lexington isn't a good idea. If I'm looking at venues for my event, I'm not sure the first thing I want to say is, "we'll need to drop curtains around half the arena." That might tell me the venue may be too large??? Drop the curtains, and building size remains the same. 4,000 people in a building as big as Rupp, with ceilings as high as Rupp, is still going to sound like 4,000 people in a building built to house 23,000. You can't get around it. My guess is the only thing Northern Ky., couldn't fix to keep the tournament past 2018, is geography. That's a shame.
  13. Only to the bolded. So you want more history and tradition (i.e. caring about the event maybe?) brought back to the tournament? Correct? Yet you are good moving it to Lexington in a 23,000 seat arena in March? Yeah, that's a nice little chance to find a niche for this tournament. Nothing else going on basketball wise in this area that time of year.
  14. No question Frankfort is outdated on the whole (or maybe it is a hole). The area around the convention center has been virtually unchanged forever. They've had AAU state tournaments in the civic center, the Ky.-Indiana series used it for awhile, and now the A. In all that time, I don't remember ever seeing a new thing pop up in the area. That said, the timing seems to stink for the All A folks. Not sure where they turn for this year. Eight months out and no home for a tournament that has to house 32 teams and use a building for five straight days. Few options. Maybe EKU can adjust their conference schedule to be on the road during this span.
  15. Fixed it for you. BTW, we love traveling to WKU every year for the last 25 or so years to attend either the girls state basketball tournament or the football state championships. Signed all of NKY.
  16. Hats worn indoors was once a no-no from an etiquette standpoint. That rule has since gone the way of the carburetor. Still see no need for anyone coaching in a gym to have a hat on during a "game", but okay. Hate the jeans look. My man, Jim Leon, rocked them for years, but it's a bad look when coaching anything other than bowling. In actual AAU sanctioned events, they have a dress code, and they enforce it.
  17. Congrats. She did a lot of things for Cooper this year, nice player. Based on the times I saw Cooper play, I'd say she is somewhat underrated. I'd start a team with her over some bigger names at other schools.
  18. Is the bolded where you plan to start your argument? Because nothing prior to that is an argument at all.
  19. I attended this game as well. For this one game at least, it was a great atmosphere and two very, very good teams. This is the year Loyola went to the final 8 in the NCAA tourny only to lose to UNLV, like everyone else. At the time I was either playing with or against some of the Wolfe (sp) brother's in various CRC and other leagues around the city. Great times.
  20. Thanks for the always good info. IMO just shows how deep the talent pool is, even at the D-II and D-III levels. Especially in a sport like basketball, where only five players can be on the floor. Bach was a very high quantity scorer in HS. Weyer is still young, but was one of the better players in the state as a HS senior IMO. Nick was a really hard nosed kid, with a great handle, and was for a time CCH's all-time leading scorer.
  21. Very little surprise to me. I didn't call it, but I did think it. Oakland is pretty good. NKU did work to get where they are this week. They are in a pretty solid basketball conference. Not elite, but it is solid.
  22. Little energy and hardly any work put into this, but a few thoughts: If you don't think Gregg Marshall is an upgrade, then look more deeply. Check out the work Wichita has done over the years in the NCAA. Major upgrade. I agree Brad Stevens is not an achievable hire for IU. Zero way he would take that job. He is coaching the Boston Celtics in the NBA, enough said. IU went 18-16 this year without the loss UK would have added to that mark, and the Big 10 was down. Not bad, but down.
  23. Anyone have a stat line for the kid from Augusta who plays at Bellermine and the kid from CovCath who is at Findlay?
