  1. For the record, 15-year-old eighth graders are few and far between. For the record, when he graduates he'll be closer to his 20th birthday than his 19th. For the record, many kids, myself included, graduate before they turn 18. Talk about a man among boys. The extra two years may help his athlticism.
  2. No way, not this bad! Ouch and wow. ST. X scored 102?
  3. Why would anyone want unskilled coaching? Isn't that an oxymoron?
  4. I'm seeing a lot of debating, but I haven't seen a top 25 from the Ninth. I'll take a crack at one. NOTE: These players are numbered but are not in any order, simply going off the top of my head. 1. Scott Draud 2. Derek Smith 3. Ross Neltner 4. Jack Jennings 5. David Dinn 6. Dickie Beal 7. Ronny Dawn 8. Justin Doellmann 9. Joe Harney 10. Troy McKinley 11. Jeff Krohman 12. Corey Pouncy 13. Keith Green 14. John Brannen 15. Mike Brock 16. Jim Pangello 17. Rob Padgett 18. Jay Stenzel 19. Brendon Stowers 20. Andre McClendon 21. Jesse Jett 22. Todd Clark 23. Brennan Votel 24. Kevin Eilers 25. Big kid from Walton, graduated in 85 or 86, went to Wright St., but had back problems that shortened his career. Can't believe I can't remember his name.
  5. Most teams change their practice schedule once the playoffs start, could mean less running, less hitting, more film study, etc. Whatever your team has been doing since the first week of the playoffs is what you stick to now.
  6. You missed your facts badly, look at your other posts. :fire: Try to spin this however you want, you missed really badly. That special kind of badly, that most of us can't miss by. I'm glad I educated you about Cincy football though :ylsuper: . Now you know Moeller, Princeton, and Fairfield were all Cincy are schools to win the D-I title (that's the big school division). Fairfield is a suburb of Cincy, just like Blue Ash, Milford, White Oak, Sharonville, etc,. My facts are correct, always will be. :thumb: Hurry along now, the small bus doesn't have many seats on it.
  7. In what circle? Hillard Davidson was an unbeaten DI school. Nine times out of 10 that makes for a pretty dang good football team this time of year. They weren't a huge favorite at all.
  8. Couldn't let this one go quite so easily. Wow, there's wrong, and then there's that special kind of way off base you are here.
  9.   Surely, you jest. Moeller has won enough of them to be regarded as an elite program to this day. Princeton won a few as well, and Fairfield has won one.
  10. Thanks for the link. I had a feeling this time was coming, but I'm sad to see it. All I can say for now is my absolute best goes to coach Yeagle. What you did at Beechwood was amazing. It will never be forgotten, and the kids you've helped will never forget how much playing in your program meant to them. Heck, many of the kids you may have beaten over the years may very well also feel touched by you. I wish I could say more, but I wouldn't know where to start.
  11. I may have missed something, but I haven't seen anything in print, nor in these forums, actually stating Yeagle submitted his resignation to the school. Can anyone confirm his letter of resignation has been received by school administrators?
  12. The Head Director All District Join Date: Jun 2005 Posts: 492 Is NCC going to win them a State Title ??? I don't understand the question. Who is, "them,"?
  13. Beechwood won the ninth region baseball championship in 2004 without a home FIELD. If I were you, I'd cry about lights a little more. If you think any stadium upgrades at the publics are coming from tax dollars, you're way wrong. Just look at the financial reports those schools must make public by law, and you'll see. They have to raise money too.
  14. It was a long, long time ago but I am pretty sure CovCath entered the final week of regular season play ranked first in AAA. I know Danville beat up the Colonels in the first round of the playoffs. I'll do a little checking. Thanks for the follow up on Danville. :thumb:
  15. Leatherneck, I thought about shooting you a PM, and still may on the subject. I understand you are far from just a casual fan. I am not someone to post without having my ducks in a row though. There have been years the football team has finished in the red. Not a knock on Highlands, it's the nature of the beast in football. And the cheerleaders and band costs are not incurred by the football program. I can promise you the football team doesn't carry any of the other sports teams at HHS. I'll leave it at that.
  16. Glad you started this thread, I thought about it but never did. Kind of puts things in perspective for this year in Ky. football. X, Newark Catholic (in D6), and Ironton are still playing I believe. What about Columbus Ready, they beat Lloyd, but I couldn't find a score on them?
  17. Thanks for the info. I noticed him doing it last year, but since they never lost I didn't know if it was only after a win. Tough thing to do after a loss like this, I'm sure. But, if anyone would do it it's him. :thumb:
  18. If that's the criteria, then thousands are in the mix.
  19. One of the biggest misconceptions among casual high school fans is that football is some type of "cash cow". Far from the truth. Having a football team costs most schools money, and even the schools that make money from football, usually make very little.
  20. Did Combs run over to their sideline and give the fans a postgame speech, or does he only do that after wins?
