  1. I failed to mention Scott and Bourbon in my previous post. Only adds to my arguement that the 10th is better, and deeper this year. May have been last year also, I hope it's not becoming a trend.
  2. Seems to me this thread was a bit premature. His teams sure have lost a bunch lately, from what I've read. Lots of good hard working kids in the area as well.
  3. No we aren't. If Beechwood wins, more power to you. IMO Holy Cross will get them, but maybe I'm wrong.
  4. If you look at the last 10 years, the Ninth is the tougher region hands down. This year, the 10th is the tougher region hands down. I'd take Mason, Pendleton, Brossart, Clark, Campbell, and Harrison to have a winning record over Holmes, CovCath, Highlands, Holy Cross, (now I'm reaching because I don't know who else in the Ninth is any good at all this year) pick two from the following: NewCath, Ryle, Boone, St. Henry, Beechwood. In a round robin format with the top six teams, the 10th outwins whatever ninth teams you put into the mix.
  5. I'd go easy on the Sandy stuff if I were you, pretty sure it's a violation of rules and can lead to suspension. :thumb: The thread was about the Newport versus Lloyd game. You offered no analysis or details from the game, simply wanted to drop in and call them underachievers. Pretty sure that contributed nothing to the thread about the actual game, just a chance for a cheap shot by you to two other schools. So don't tell me what the thread is about. I started this simply pointing out that Ludlow has lost to both, thus making them an even bigger underachiever in the eyes of many. Don't you agree. It's points A,B, and C logic. And you started the whole underachiever thing.
  6. I didn't get a chance to see this game, but I'm going to guess that anyone who thinks Brossart quit is dead wrong. They may have been a bit stunned and made a few mistakes, but I can't imagine they quit. They'll keep learning and try again in a couple of weeks.
  7. Not a chance they are fourth in the district. They'll be the three seed, Beechwood is the four seed.
  8. Not sure why I'd have ever been on your radar screen? If your school has a lot of glass, don't throw stones toward other places. To date, Ludlow is a bottom tier NKY team and they were certainly picked much higher than that. Not my opinion, it's a projection versus performance thing. :thumb:
  9. I don't need to read the thread. My facts are easy to follow, you said Newport and Lloyd were underachievers. I pointed out that both had beaten Ludlow, which then makes them the biggest underachiever to this point in the year. It's follow point A to point B logic, easy stuff. Ludlow isn't even on my radar most of the time, but if you're going to call out other schools as being underachievers, you may want to make sure your own school is doing okay first. :thumb:
  10. Thomas More and NKU offer both teams nice locker rooms, which most high schools can't. Ryle has a nice place to play, bad locker areas though. CovCath is a great overall place to play. Holmes is a great place for both teams as well. They do a great job overall at both schools.
  11. You're the one who wanted to call these two clubs underachieving. They may be, but they both beat the underachieving Panthers (has a nice ring to it). That's a fact. Ludlow was ranked ahead of Lloyd on everyone's preseason list (even the lists that mean something ). I'm dealing in facts here, and the fact of the matter is Ludlow is either the most underachieving team in NKY to date, or Penick isn't nearly as good as you and others have said.
  12. I never thought Highlands was a tough place to play. CovCath has a great student section, but I think it's a fun place to play, because of the enviroment. I'd put CCH behind Holy Cross and Boone for hard places for visitors to play.
  13. There's your problem, you guys took practice off. You can't practice at one speed and try to play at another. Good teams play and practice at the same speed, and the kids play hard every day.
  14. And yet both teams beat Ludlow. You can't mention underachieving teams without putting the Panthers at the top of the list.
  15. In the Ninth Region, my picks are Holy Cross and Boone County. Hard for visiting teams to play well there for some reason.
  16. Dixie wins this one and we start to see the many chinks in the Highlands armour that a very soft early schedule hid.
  17. Where's Sportsguy in this thread. He predicted a couple losses for NCH on this swing through the west coast.
  18. Thing is, since the kid is only an eighth grader, by his senior year he'll be playing against kids that are at least two years younger than him.
  19. Smith was better as a sophomore than two of the three you listed were as seniors. Jennings and Smith are two of the best the region has ever produced.
  20. This may be the most underwhelming schedule Highlands has played in 25 years. Once upon a time, they played with the big dogs. But, hey great win against Gallatin. And that win over Carroll was huge, or not.
