  1. Exactly, just like Bourbon County in 97.
  2. I will also add that I feel bad for the LO players because I remember how the Danville players were so dejected after that game in 06. LO definitely did everything right for most of the game to win. After the game I told SEVERAL people how I was in shock that we actually won because for so much of the game I just didn't think we had enough in the tank to pull it out. Also, I'd put Boyle, Bell, LO, and LexCath up against any of the top teams in the larger classes and be confident that you'd have a competitive game. :thumb:
  3. Danvile was up 17 over NewCath in 06 in the 4th quarter and lost.
  4. I may be mistaken, but I think they were the 4 seed that year.
  5. My only complaint was that they ACTUALLY tried to reserve the chairback seats on the home side which run from the 20 to the 20 for people who paid a higher ticket price. If this had been honored by the fans (it wasn't:D) you would have had a situation where the home crowd would have to go over to the visitor side to make room for all the fans. I can't belive they even attempted this. I noticed that they quit announcing about the reserve seats in later games. Otherwise, it is a topnotch facility which deserves more state games. Even though it's is further to drive to BG than to PJ, I wouldn't mind if it stayed in BG especially if it irritated certain fans who still find it hard to believe they'll have to leave town to see a state game.:cry:
  6. Actually, the change in defensive strategy employed by Boyle wherein they started pressuring the qb helped to make it difficult for the LO qb to go downfied so that he had to start looking for shorter routes and such. In short, the change in LO's offensive output was necessitated by Boyle's defensive pressure.
  7. Wow. What a game!! In 1987, the Danville Admirals beat Mayfield in the state championship by blocking an extra point in overtime. I have long considered that game to be the best/most exciting game I've seen at state. Last night's game now takes the top spot for me personally. The first half was VERY frustrating for the Rebels. The defensive strategy was basically to play a 3-4 set so as to have their coverage concentrated on stopping the short to medium range passing attack. Well, let's just say that didn't work very well because Lone Oak not only shredded our secondary, they also are very balanced with a very good running game so they exploited the Rebels up front too. So, we're sitting there at halftime down 22-7 and I must say I was pretty dejected. The team that came out on the field the 2nd half was a different team altogether. The D strategy changed from relying on increased pass coverage to concentrating on pressuring the quarterback and what a difference it made. So when you combine the effective change in defensive strategy with an improved offensive output and a couple of huge plays (blocked punt, McShara TD pass, FG at end of regulation), you get a recipe for a comeback.
  8.:laugh::laugh: Excellent. Personally, I wish a punter would win so EVERYBODY would be whipped into a frenzy.
  9. I'm officially calling you out on the 1A game to let you know you are completely wrong on this one. Mayfield is too big and quick to get throttled imo. I don't know who will win, but this game SHOULD be one of the best of the weekend.
  10. I'll take McShara at 12.09 ypc!!! incredible.
  11. I'd say the Mayfield crowd might disagree with you.
  12. We play at 11am Central time on Friday. I'll definitely look for the "Bird bus" which will probably be parked near the Creek.:sssh:
  13. I'm pretty sure I know who you are talking about because they sat near our family tonight screaming obscenities during the night and generally acting like classless fools. I can assure all that people like that are a negligible % of the Rebel fanbase.
  14. At first glance I would have said Boyle big in this one. However, I saw where Lone Oak beat Lex Cath earlier in the year by 3 in OT. Anybody who beats LC has to be pretty tough, so this game may be better than expected.
  15. Hopefully 3 will be all...........:sssh:
