SO they skip baseball practice 10 days before the season starts to practice football? I thought I read that Dale promotes his players playing baseball???

I assume the baseball players are not involved in Spring practice, right?

I was telling someone recently that Ryle is on a strong course to become the dominant overall athletic program in NKY. It has everything needed.

Why is not fair? The Diocese didn't stop CCH from putting in turf before NC or Holy Cross.

We'll just disagree. IMO he'd thrive more in Holmes style with his ability to find holes and his passing ability.

Boone has 2 of the top offensive players in NKY. Can they get any pitching?

7th , 8th, and 9th at RH (I believe). 10th and 11th at NCH. 12th at Huntington High.

OG - I have no problem with this. If Shawn wanted to donate enough for the ENTIRE cost, Boone would have their field. We should not penalize Ryle nor should we expect the BOE to pay for Boone's field just because an alum wants to pay "part" of the bill.

Unfortunately for the Colonels, the season is over. Let me comment on two of the seniors. If you had someone from another state say "take me to see a player who exemplifies NKY high school basketball," you'd take him to see Michael Grimes. He does absolutely nothing in a spectacular fashion. His shot is OK. His ballhandling is OK. His speed is OK. Solid athlete. Decent size. He's the face of NKY basketball because once the game starts the above are irrelevant because he simply knows how to play the game on both ends and do whatever is needed on a given night. His b-ball IQ is off the charts. His D is top-notch. His passing is grossly underrated and he knows how to get the ball. He's a D3 player at best but he's a player that would start on every team in NKY despite his lack of individual skills and he makes every team a winner. Secondly, hats off to JD Schmerge. JD was a one-trick pony as a frosh and a sophomore. Of course, that one trick was knocking down 3s so that's not too bad. However, about halfway through his JR year, he started getting much more aggressive on both ends of the floor. He, too, made CCH better when he was in the game with not only his ability to knock down a 3 with one of the best strokes in NKY but also with his defense and rebounding. He, too,will be sorely missed. Nice job, boys.

Let me be clear. It was a big deal at the end of the 3rd but it didn't cost CCH the game. Just a missed call. CCH took bad shots and had no one on the offensive boards. They also got lost in their zone defense and didn't account for Clark. Holmes has proven that they are the superior team.

Are they both in the same school district?

I don't know where Westwood is in relation to Ashland but I'll assume its close. That type of move happens all the time. A girl moved from Ludlow to Florence (15 minute drive) and was immediately eligible.

I was not at the game and just now watched the replay. If you watch the replay, its hard to believe a foul was not called. Shover , with possession of the ball, has the Holmes player falling/diving and hits Shover across the thighs causing Mitch to go down and lose the ball. Easy call. Foul.

I don't think his family has any eligibility.:lol: The kid will most likely be eligible IF the family moves.

Arrez playing D1 is a stretch IMO. Whomever said above that he's a more athletic Ramel Bradley doesn't fully realize the skill set and athletic ability of a top notch D1 guard. Outstanding NKY high school player who has led his team to back-to-back trips to Rupp who fits best at the D2 level.

That would be incorrect. CCH was down by about 18 early then came back in the 2nd half and won.

Was the game as lopsided as the score indicates?

It is possible. You'll hear it referred to as a "blarge." If both called what they called, the ultimate ruling was correct.
