Big stage? It is high school football and they are being included as a part of an activity at their school. The benefits far outweigh any negatives.

Dixie - I wish Tom Sprtizky was still coach and enjoying the run, but I am happy for the Dixie kids. Graves County - Old friend of ours Mel Doughty's grandson Heath Wiggins plays for Graves, so would love to see him get the W after a great run. Highlands Central - I have nothing against Belfry (I am particularly fond of Watusi), but I have a hard time not pulling for Central. I think winning with innercity kids in football is tough sledding and I appreciate what coach Scroggins has done. NCC - I don't think NCC is all that great and their side of the playoff is really weak, but I have several friends kids on that team and would like to see them get another title. Class A - I don't know if I care either way. Nice to see the 'Burg get a title. Have several old friends who are alum, but I have always appreciated the tradition of Mayfield as well (plus I really like far Western KY).

If they don't then of course there would be no issues. It used to be a regular occurence that coaches would sell equipment on the listserv and I am pretty sure the coaches weren't buying the equipment themselves.

Probably not, but it might say something about how you dispose of a school purchased lawn mower. Just to be clear, I am not accusing anyone of anything wrong. Just asking.

Lots of tickets being offered for sale on the coaches listserv. I would thinkn there are plenty of transactions taking place. Would redbook have anything to say about this practice?

What happened with the play involving the Williamsburg kicker and is the kid OK?

Is there another sport at any level where the postseason purpose is diversity?

One important thing tonote was that both Hebel and Gall agreed to be moved and bought into what was being ask of them for the good of the team. Kudos to both of them, Sweet Lou and the entire line.

Much of what your posting is coaching related. Are Rash and his band of merry men the issue? Also, does Mayfield moving to 2A solve Beechwood's issues or simply mask them.

It isn't that hard to understand. Some like their playoffs like they like their orange juice - concentrated. Others realize that the greatest run in their school history only happened because they were able to "avoid" certain teams. Refresh my memory HB would Cooper have been on the same side of the bracket in 3A with Highlands or 4A with Trinity in 2012 if there were just 4 classes? I guess that is just rethorical and really doesn't matter. :banana:

What does "as it should" mean? Is diversity the key or rewarding the deserving?

That stinks for the kid. Hope he heals quickly.

I haven't read this entire thread (maybe someone has already asked this), but my question would be can you have both a moral victory and have your entire defense end up on the wrong end of Sportscenter highlight?

Congrats to Lauren Nemeroff for being named Miss KY soccer. Lauren has committed to the University of Kentucky and will be joining the Wildcats off their Sweet 16 finish, which I believe is the best in the program's history. All the best to Lauren.

Forget who wins. Let's ask the real questions - what pants are the colonels wearing and were they able to get the stain marks out from the first meeting? :jump:

We have gone from subdistricts to just districts. We have gone from being very hard to get in to being a corpse and still geting in. We have gone from 3 classes to 5 classes to 6 classes. Sometimes we seed the first rounds within a distict sometimes we match that district up against another distric in the first rounds. Sometimes geography and travel costs matter sometimes we don't want to see the same teams we see in the regular season. Sometimes we lump Jefferson County on one side of the bracket, but that guarantees them a spot in the final - other times we want the Jefferson County teams on either side of the bracket, but that gives us the dreaded T/X matchup. Recently we lump the big dominant schools all in a single district and then flip who that district plays every year to limit their damage to schools with less talent and a fragile self worth Living in the Land of the Free it isn't popular to criticize "majority rules", but more often than not the majority are motivated by self interest and lots of times the majority make lousy decisions. A good leader (with some power) might be able to clean up the mess that the majority have created.
