  1. Crossfit Open 18.2 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10 reps for time of: 50 pound dumbbell squats Bar-facing burpees With time remaining 1 rep max clean 12 minute time cap. I typically go scaled, but thought I could do this one RX. Just barely had enough time to get 185 on the clean up. I should have put more on bar for the clean, but was unsure how I would feel at that point in the workout.
  2. Scott Padgett has been a head coach for 4 years. Career record 57-75 (.432). This year (with a team he assembled entirely they are 10-21). Best finish in the Southern Conference 7th. I can see how you would like him to be Kentucky coach. At least Allen Edwards has a winning record in his 2 years 42-26. Currently 19-11 and in 6th place in the Mountain West. If you want to pick a coach out of the Southern Conference Steve Forbes would be the choice and if you want someone out of the Mountain West take Eric Musselman. To date Padgett and Edwards have done nothing.
  3. I drive a CRV, it is a fine vehicle. I mostly got it because I knew I would be teaching 3 teenagers to drive in it. It is perfect because it sits high, but it isn't real big. So it has been good for what I bought it for. My biggest issue is that I never see another male drive one. It seems to be the car of choice for middle aged women.

  11. Birds had a very good season - best finish at state for them in 20+ years. They lose a few really good swimmers, but they return some good swimmers (and divers) too. Beating Cov. Cath. (again) looks like it could happen again. :banana:

  13. I couldn't tell you who he had lost that he was frustrated over, but I am just relaying what I was told and it came from someone who should know. As far as the Addidas contract, I couldn't tell you overall if it has been positive or not, but I can tell you as the parent of a xc/track and field athlete that it is much much better than the previous Nike contract for those kids.
  14. I have heard he has been frustrated with his ability to retain assistants due to their low pay and that has been a real focus of his. One other thing and this is purely anecdotal. We ran into coach at Campus Book and Supply buying NKU apparel right before Christmas. I laughed and said to him, "don't you get enough of this stuff for free?". He told me that he was the only coach in the Horizon conference without an apparel allowance in his contract.

  16. Only if you totally ignore football has six classes and basketball has one. Would football sign up for the basketball treatment? That Tuesday opening round district game followed by the Friday championship game might be a little rough.
  17. In retrospect, I think Highlands had a timeout and my guess is that Kevin wishes he would have taken it. Highlands really played well and did a good job attacking the boards and getting second chance points all night; however, with just 13 seconds Highlands doesn't have a kid who can consistently create a quality shot (like Hall can for NCC), which makes the situation challenging. Kevin might have should have taken the TO and tried to draw something up. Also give credit to NCC's press, which made Highlands work all night including that last 13 seconds. Lukens had really nice game for the Breds hitting hook shots and medium range jumpers. Good mobility for the big kid too.
  18. I believe VOR is attempting to make the football argument in this thread (he seems to have some passion around the everyone gets in argument); however, there is a big difference in having six classes and a single class. I really doubt football would sign up for the basketball treatment.
  19. I thought we were talking about 10 practices with full contact in the spring. Not helmets and shoulder pads working on technique. I really shouldn't have waded into this thread, because my passion for debating spring football is only so so. :jump:
  20. I respect the heck out of you ChiefSmoke as typically the voice of reason (not to be confused with our other Voice of Reason), but come on, but you can't really think the "have nots" are the ones benefiting from organized spring practice.
