Wow from slug fest to shootout

We were talking about this how the 7 man crews aren’t that great down the field. Now the Head Linesman and Line Judge stay on line of scrimmage and help watch the box, leaving the Back Judge with the help of the 2 new spots the field Judge and side Judge. Those 2 new spots aren’t used to working there and don’t have the experience and mechanics and don’t seem to know what they should call or look for/at. In the Fern Creek V South Oldham game it seemed all the calls were in the box and very little called downfield, each team should have been called for pass interference at least once and neither was called.

Central looks slow, weird normally not the case

Central beat Fern Creek with mostly running by 9 and QB, lot of student body to outside w QB keeping. Mixed in a passes to Baker. Baker didn’t drop any like that vs us. QB broke a couple long ones vs Fern Creek

Are you updating the MacOS each year (Free )? I haven’t had any issues yet and I am using a Mid 2012 MacBook Pro.

The older versions of Mac Min were a fairly cheap ($499 + up), intro to Mac computing. They were used for regular everyday use, as home theater computers and had early versions of Kodi, and other streaming services before streaming became so easy but requiring all the subscriptions. Mac Mini’s come with the computer and a power cord, no mouse, keyboard, or monitor is included. If your old dell has just bit the dust you could use all the stuff from it and buy a Mac Mini to switch to MacOS. At $500 not too bad a deal. The older versions had notebook level processors and it was easy to upgrade and add RAM or another hard drive or even an SSD. The new ones still come with just a computer and power cord, but the processors are now full desktop versions. I doubt the ram and hard drives are as easily upgraded (Apple has shied from this) but come with plenty of options as long as you can pay the “Apple tax”. I used to recommend it as a beginner Mac and almost bought one for my stepfather before settling on a entry level iMac for him ($1099). I chose him the IMac at the time even though it was double the price, I could have got a $599 Mac mini with 4 GB RAM AND 500gb hard drive, but got him the 21.5 iMac with same processor, ram and hard drive. He loves the all in one design and Bluetooth keyboard and mouse giving him a very clean and tidy desk I stopped recommending it just because it sat without an upgrade for 4 years and the last gen before this one made it hard to upgrade the ram and hard drive. Mac Mini does have a cult following and this new model has better specs. It now is more comparable to a MacBook Pro than an entry level Mac and has the chops to do most anything you throw at it. Can edit HD video and with higher configurations even 4K, it still has a lot of ports . I probably would again skip the Mac mini opting again for an IMac, if these had started at $599 instead of $799 I might have considered it.

Apple announced the first new Mac Mini in 4 years and it was a considerable bump, moving to desktop processor and some good options for RAM and SSD’s. The new MacBook Air was a good bump as well, finally getting a retina screen and good options for Ram and SSD, disappointed still just have dual core processor, even Mac Mini gets 4X or 6X. Both of these upgrades are a few years overdue. The new iPad Pro’s are a real upgrade, the smaller bezels, faceid, new pencil , new squared side design with round corners. I don’t mind removing the home button but wish they had left in the headphone jack. I am still with my iPhone 7 Plus and so far have resisted an upgrade to the new models and my MacBook Pro is a mid 2012 model probably still good for another year or two. But although my 9.7 iPad Pro is fine, I see me buying a iPad Pro 11” in the next few weeks.

One feature the new iPhones and last years iPhone X have is the facial recognition instead of fingerprint unlocking. I have a iPhone 7 Plus and will upgrade soon, trying to get a buy one get one deal but may have to change a number to get it

do you use a software for stats nkypete? Maxpreps lets you upload from most stats software, I didn't know that last year and would take me aboue 15-20 minutes per game to update, now 2 minutes. I do stats live and try to get tackles, and just put tm when I don't know, my software I can just edit the tm to a number but if I don't put in a tackle at all have to replace the play rather than edit it. I use statcrew. i'll review stats after I upload our video and intercut it. then will review stats on hudl on my ipad streamed to the tv with apple tv, allows me to zoom and slow motion etc. the intercut plays the play from pressbox angle then endzone, allows you to see both angles right after another

Fired up the Akorn for first time in a couple weeks cooking up a bunch of pork chops and chicken breasts for dinner tonight and lunch the rest of the week. Getting tired of cafeteria food at work.

Another annoyance is how pat’s are now handled on the attempts, made is that just for kicks or also 2pt as well? Our kicker made 4-5 PAT kicks but also had a failed 2pt run attempt, I didn’t want to hurt his kicking percentage by having 2pt att on there if not supposed to be there.

Fern Creek graduated 27 Seniors including: Offensive Line: 4 of 5 starters Defensive Line: all 4 starters and 2 others that played heavily in the rotation Linebackers: 3 starters, and another Defensive Backs: 4 yr starter at CB Damon Durrah (also played WR, returned kicks and punts) Wide Receiver: lost 3 including Durrah that played a lot Punter: both guys that punted in games are gone both were also starting LB The Tigers have good numbers for 2018 but return just 4 on Offense and 3 on Defense. Success will depend heavily on how the young guys on both sides of the line do in their new starting roles

Finally firing up my Akorn for the first time this year tomorrow. Just got back from Sam’s with some babybacks, Apple rub, and those huge baking potatoes. Gonna prepare the ribs later and check the grill, refill the lump etc.

I need to start smoking on the weekends, my new job has me working 12pm-9pm doesn’t leave time to smoke much during the week. The whole fall I was tied up with football and barely used my Akorn since mid summer.

Fern Creek may be moving back to 6A as well. They were at the bottom of 6A and moved down when some 5A teams wanted to move up. Now numbers are up quite a bit.

Covington Catholic is 13-0 and continues to be a 5A Juggernaut steamrolling thru Kentucky teams with their closest margin of victory vs a KY team at 32 pts (Ryle). The Colonels routed South Oldham 49-7. South Warren avenged their regular season loss, knocking off two-time defending State Champion Bowling Green 28-21. The Spartans are 11-2. According to Covington Catholic’s team history webpage this will be the first ever meeting between the schools. Who wins?

Harlan County is 8-5 after beating Southwestern 23-18. It is the Black Bears first Regional Championship since 2012. What a great turn around for the season after a 1-4 start. Madison Southern beat Montgomery County 61-20 for their first ever Regional Championship (per twitter). The last meeting between these teams was the 2nd round of the 2013 playoffs when Madison Southern won 41-28. Who wins?
