Of course we have to follow the Terms of Service but this is an open talk thread about food and what is to eat. Ideally I would like to hear about pregame meals and I will start off by sharing my pregame meal to give me a little extra courage on the keyboard tonight talking about Kentucky High School Football.

Burgers and dogs on the grill tonight. Tomorrow night will be venison steak, baked potatoes and some crockpot cream corn. I bought a pork loin today that I will either smoke or fix in the crockpot in the next few days.

Yummy!

How do you make the crockpot cream corn?

Threw together some bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers with the burgers tonight. Delicious

I haven't tried it yet, so tomorrow will be a test run. From the looks of it you put in a bunch of butter and cream cheese with whole kernel corn and season it. :D

Here is the recipe I am going to try...

[h=2]SLOW COOKER CREAMED CORN[/h]

yield: 6 SERVINGS

prep time: 10 MINUTES

cook time: 3 HOURS, 15 MINUTES

total time: 3 HOURS, 25 MINUTES

So rich and creamy, and unbelievably easy to make with just 5 ingredients. It does not get easier than that!

[h=3]INGREDIENTS:[/h]

  • 3 (15.25-ounces) cans whole kernel corn, drained
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into thin slices

[h=3]DIRECTIONS:[/h]

  1. Place corn into a slow cooker. Stir in milk, sugar and pepper until well combined. Without stirring, top with butter and cream cheese. Cover and cook on high heat for 2-3 hours.
  2. Uncover and stir until butter and cream cheese are well combined. Cover and cook on high heat for an additional 15 minutes.
  3. Serve immediately.
