I thought all those guys went to Beechwood for the academics.

Who is in line to be the next coach at CovCath?
jdg937 replied to The Bowl Man's topic in KY Football (High School)
According to a source who should know, Brossart from Finneytown is the man. -
David Trosper - former Holmes coach.

As I said, I base my opinion on many things over the past several years. Currently, I am frustrated by the dragging of feet in the coaching selection process. This is supposed to be a big time 4A program, but a quality inside source tells me they still have not contacted the applicants they want to interview. The word around northern Kentucky is that it is a done deal, that the Sheriff is going to get the job. I am just interested in seeing how this plays out. Maybe they won't look inept by the end of the process, but experience tells me they will.

That is my opinion. It is based on what I have observed over the past several years. Whether you like those people or not is immaterial to me. If you don't like my opinion don't read it.

That and a multitude of other things over the past several years. Great kids, great community, questionable leadership for sure.
-
I don't know what you mean by that but all you have to do is look at the situation - it speaks for itself. They should be further along in the process by now. From what I hear it will also be proven when the "selection" is made.

ineptitude.

Coach Hauck has to be at or near the top. He and Coach Rice were together when Highlands went 5 years without losing a game. He won the state title at Highlands as a head coach. At Mt. Healthy he took a team that had not won a game and was 10-0 in 5 years. Took over a Boone program that had not done much and built a AAAA power. If not for Trinity and X would have won several titles at Boone. He is loved by his players and coaches.

Roger Bacon.

Every team gets to choose one player on the Top 24 and they can then nominate another to be voted on if they like.
-
I heard the Cov. Cath. coach did not show up at the meeting to nominate his players.

Stellman was an assistant at Conner for Coach Clark.
-
I am pretty sure Clark was not from Wyoming, but maybe Sycamore. I know coach Stellman was an assistant for him. By the way, this is one time I will have to agree with Quickslick. What does the sheriff know about coaching a high school team? That is a full time job. Is he a sheriff or a coach? I think you can only do a good job at two such time consuming jobs one at a time.

Where is all this crap about being envious and glad Beechwood is down coming from? That is not the case at all. I have a close friend with a son on the team and I have been to several Beechwood games this year. I have seen and heard some disturbing things. What I have read on this site coming from Beechwood coaches disturbs me further.
-
I always considered Beechwood a classy program, but I am beginning to wonder lately.
-
I was not questioning the other coaches at Beechwood, just you. I would not want a crybaby like you coaching my kids.
-
Thanks for the insults. You are very classy. I guess my comments hit a nerve with you. Games are like life. Sometimes they are fair and sometimes they are not. Again, get over it.
-
By the way, I am not your dad, but if I were your dad you would have learned some much needed sportsmanship.
-
the game was decided by someone other than the players on the field. That is what you want to teach your players. Good job.
-
3pt and Quickslick, Move on. There are missed calls in all games. From what I have seen Beechwood gets much more than their share of "good" calls. Beechwood is a huge favorite against almost every team they play. The refs know this too and I am guessing it soaks into their subconscious. Just wish NCC good luck and move on.

Offensive shake-up for the Boone Co. Rebels?
jdg937 replied to All Play No Work's topic in KY Football (High School)
If Coach Thompson decided to make a change that is his right and his responsibility. He is the head coach. He is trying to win. He obviously has his reasons. -
I was in attendance at 3 Beechwood home games this year and I have to say I was really disappointed in Beechwood student section. They taunted and harassed the opposing teams in all three games with inappropriate chants. I am not talking about good old fashioned spirit, but rude insults to individuals and communities. This is uncalled for and should be addressed by the administration.
