  1. Boone has lost there starting qb. The new qb is in his fourth game as a starter and working hard to improve. People that are not at games and do not know what the injury situation is should withhold comments about the personal and the offensive attack. I feel the coachs are doing what is needed to win the games they are playing.
  2. Crush, no one would expect you to be impressed by either of these teams. After all, you are used to watching an all star team. The Bellevue and Dayton players are just hard nosed kids from two very small, economically struggling river towns. They don't have all the advantages and amenities as most other schools. They proudly represent their towns, their families, and the kids they are growing up with. And don't worry, they are being taught the basics and much more. These kids represent what high school football should be -- playing together with the kids they grew up with and giving everything they have for their neighborhood high school. These kids know a state championship is very difficult to attain, especially considering the local competition. However, they are out there every day, every week, and every year, working hard with only their homegrown talent, reaching for the stars. It is a Bellevue/Dayton thing, you wouldn't understand.
  3. I've seen this Lyvers kid play the past two years and I am impressed. Although undersized, he plays sideline to sideline, and hits like a truck.
  4. I was there until well after the game and I was really proud of the Conner boys and coaches, but the head coach OBVIOUSLY avoided the Boone coaches. I don't know why, his team played well.
  5. Great game to watch. Conner has a good team. Boone can really run the ball and dominated the line of scrimmage in the second half. A couple of things I noticed: 1. The head coach from Conner did not shake hands with the coaches or players from Boone. The Boone coaches seemed to be making an effort and the Conner coach just tried to avoid them. Being a Conner fan this disappointed me. Kind of sad in my opinion after such a well played game. 2. I noticed the Conner coach said in the paper they "just ran out of time." Based on what I saw #44, #8, #7, #69, and #78 from Conner would not have wanted to or been able to play another quarter. Boone was going through them like crap through a goose in the second half. If they played much longer Quainoo would have broken a single game rushing record. He seemed to be getting stonger while the Cougars seemed to have lost their will to stop him. 3. Conner has made great improvements. This is about time since they are the largest school in northern Kentucky. Those of us in Hebron are glad we are getting better. Maybe next year we can beat Boone and make the series a rivalry again. Until then, despite what everyone says, the pigskin power of 6A resides in Florence.
  6. I have not heard much of anything about Paris this year. What is the word on the greyhounds?
  7. I heard they were very interested in Dave Pelgen, the defensive coordinator at Bellevue, but they did not have a teaching job to go with the coaching position. He would have been a great fit. Excellent young coach with a catholic school background.
  8. Andre the Giant was not very friendly when I met him. Joe Nuxhall was one of the friendliest guys you could meet. He was down to earth and willing to talk to anyone.
  9. We will have to agree to disagree on this one. Good luck with your new coach!
  10. It had to do with possible coaching/teaching positions in the high school.
  11. Really? Are you the former principal? Because that is who made the promises.
  12. From what I understand certain promises were made by the administration during the interview process, then isoon after Coach Borchers accepted the job those same promises were revoked. If the administration had been honest Coach Borchers would have never accepted the job. Scott has a track record of such conduct. They have gone through coaches at a pretty quick rate.
  13. Coach Borchers is an excellent coach and person and will have a lot more to work with at Cooper.
  14. Are they still practicing? I would think their 3 week window would have closed a couple of weeks ago.
  15. What became of Shelby County's Eugene Wade? Is he playing anywhere?
  16. The first year Ryle played 5 varsity and 4 jv games.
  17. Coach U is a fine man and an outstanding football coach. Owen County would be lucky to get him back.
  18. That would be a surprise considering the poor following Beechwood has had all season.
  19. I was a guest on the sideline for this game and I heard what was said. The coach complained about the first call, got flagged, then said, "What the h3ll is that for?" and got another flag. The official said the coach cursed at him. He did say h3ll but in my opinion the official has some growing up to do. Northern Kentucky officials would have never thrown either flag. From what I heard the official was repremanded after the game by an official evaluator. I watched the game and I did not think it was dirty on either side. I did not see the alleged below the waist hit on the center, but if it occured I doubt it was a purposely "dirty hit." The officials did not do a very good job in my opinion for either side. There was a lot of blatent holding on Beechwood's part and I thought the personal fouls that were called were not appropriate for what I saw. Bellevue was outmanned, but played hard. Beechwood has a good team and should win the A title. Good luck to the Big Red Tigers!
  20. They got rid of a good coach in Coach U. He was organized, disciplined and loved the kids. They were often competitive with teams they had no business competing with athlete wise. They will now have to sleep in the bed they made.
  21. "there's ZERO way to forecast that situation...this stuff won't fly...As for the personal fouls, I'll leave that lone...I have better things to do than lose football games...Some people wouldn't last a minute at HHS, CCH, Dixie...etc." Stickymitts, your questioning is fine, however the condescending tone of your comments is unwarranted. Again, this Bellevue team has achieved at a high level for what most expected. Unlike HHS, CCH, Dixie we are not allowed to "get" players from all over northern Kentucky and Cincinnati. Kenton County has open enrollment and Dixie has kids from all over the county. We have one square mile, a little over 100 boys in grades 9-12, 52 of which play football, and we are proud of who we are and what we have accomplished. Our kids AND our coaches have done a good job.
  22. If you are such an expert why don't you apply to coach at Bellevue. The team is 7-4 and no one outside Bellevue expected that this year.
  23. Congratulations to Coach Weedman and the rest of the staff. Great bunch of guys and good coaches. The cream will rise to the top.
  24. What sense would it make for a school with 120 boys, all of whom live within one mile of the school, to play schools with 600 or 700 boys in the regular season? Isn't it enough that they play a couple of lower division all star teams? By the way, the Tigers also scrimmaged Campbell Co. and Grant Co. Also, under the old system Lloyd and Newport would still be AA.
