  1. Yes, that photo was made from 9 seperate photos of the stands. And you use tools to line up the matching parts, blend and balance the photos so exposures match in each view so you do not see dark and light bands from that. But if you could see the pic before I posted it, it would have been jagged on the top and bottom as the different pics had different focal lengths and FOV. So you loose some on those ends as you then need to crop for an cut on top and bottom. Also, I had to try a few different things, because when moving objects are involved sometimes you get replicated people or things not lining up right. for the most part this one was pretty clean. I shot this with the camera on the monopod, because the lens is to big to hand hold comfortably althought I have done it some around the house.
  2. VR is not all that for sports photography. And here is why, VR typically doesnt kick in until you are shooting over 1/60 of a second which you would not use for shooting most things moving. So the VR part of that lens wont be helping you. I have the 18-200 VR, which unfortunately is not a constant 2.8, but is 3.5-5.6 and for shooting hand held at slow shutter speeds it is great.
  3. Sorry if this is too wide. Here is one of the people in the Home stands.. I like to experiment while the Guru isn't cracking the whip. I stiched about 9 photos together to make this panorama.
  4. Checked it out.. those are good.. Shooting from the the stands would be tough. I would like to get a wider lens, something up to 70mm for close ups etc.. but the lens I want costs 1800. I will be passing on it, as that is not in the budget any time soon.
  5. Proof is in who posted the pictures... lol... I did take some of them though (The last one where they are way off the ground for sure), maybe not that particular one. hehe...
  6. I shoot with Nikon Gear mostly. Unfortunately it is expensive and sometimes there are close calls on the sidelines. But I like shooting the games and this was a good one to be at.
  7. Sorry for not posting sooner, but I was not feeling well the past few days.
  8. I coworker told me this today too. He told me his buddy called and told him, but that he was arreted in Lexington with Marijuana. I asked how he had this info and it wasn't posted ont he AP and he said the person he got it from was a Lexington cop who heard it over police radio.
  9. I am looking forward to shooting at this game tonight. This will be my first time attending the game, I passed last year going to TN to see it.
  10. Wow.. This is great news... And NKY 2-A is looking pretty good...
  11. The night before for the 4A game was much much worse IMHO. They had someone directing the traffic into the parking lot and he was more of a problem than a help.
  12. Thanks.. I will try and post some more in here. But there should be plenty posted in the pictures section (for this game and all the others) in the next week or two once they are all processed. This game was exciting and one of the best comback games I have seen.
  13. Thanks boss, it looks that much better in full size, this was reduced to somewhere like 27k and the original is a 1.8 or so megs...
  14. Very good game from Ryle tonight, but what was up with HC's punting/special teams early in the game?
  15. Called or not the play was definately a fumble. But I would not be to sure the Tigers would have gotten the recovery. Here is a crop of a later picture on this play. You can see the gloved hand on the ball is of an NCC player whos helmet you can also see. Not 100%, but as it was not ruled a fumble (dont know why) it makes no difference now. And in the end the team that won deserved to win and it was one exciting game to be at.
