Will there be any coaching changes? Have they all committed to return?

I was in the camp of moving on with a new head coach. With that said, I hate to see anyone lose their job. Especially when it’s a job you’ve coveted and worked so hard to get. There was a talent depth drop the last couple of years. It was pointed to a couple years before it happened. Sounds like the upcoming classes will fix that issue. Pretty much looks and sounds like a Put up or Shut up year for BW.

So talent cycles don’t exist? Yep, Highlands has won 22 state title all due to outside talent. There’s a word for people who choose to ignore facts.

Someone posted on this once before. I think CovCath is squarely in 5A For the next review. Highlands is still at a 4A level. But I don’t know the numbers. But I agree, play in the class you should be. There are enough teams up here to do it. They can still play CovCath.

I think you get confused sometimes. They have talent, no one had said they don’t. The DEPTH of the talent is not what it was. Instead of having (let’s say) 20 really good athletes, they have 10. The drop off to the next level is much farther than it was in the past. But they are rebounding and should have more depth in the near future. Sounds like some good classes coming up.

Yeah, it’s kind of hard to ignore that head to head comparison. Highlands was playing better than when they faced CovCath and South struggled to beat the Birds. CovCath by a bunch. They are on a different level than SO and are battle tested.

Congrats to the Dragons. They didn’t quit and will get a shot at the machine. Good Luck As for the Bird seniors, keep your head up. You will always be part of the proud program at Highlands. You have given your all and that’s all anyone can ask. To the underclass men, learn from this year and work to be better for next year. To the Highlands coaches, it was a tough year. Yes the team was improved over the previous year. While maybe not a state title contender, this team deserved more from you. There are many improvements to be made, please take some time for self reflection and think about what you could have done better.

Exactly where do you see that in what was posted? I'm with Watusi, doesn't change a thing.

Been a few alums on here that seem to be on the same side as me. And he drew the criticism based on his actions. His argument is lame. "I'm not giving film to them because they had a bye and were at our game and already scouted us." I'm with Guru on this one, cry me a river. Man up and do your job. Seems to be the perception around BW is that he's not getting the job done.

I'm a Highlands alum. No hate here. But the coach embarrassed himself and his school. The coaches argument and actions on this matter are weak.

No, this thread is about Highlands coach embarrassing himself and the school. There's another thread talking about the flaws. Oh boo hoo, they got an extra game film. What competitive advantage does it give SO if the films are already available?

Exactly! It's a game film. It's already available on the internet. Why make a big deal about it? Sad state of things surrounding the football program.
