Are the alarm bells ringing for Oboro now? Obviously they were expected to be better than their performances thus far, but the season's still young. Next week might be the real eye-opener, though.

Based on the offense, Graves might be winless going into district play. At Murray next week, then host Union County before getting Owensboro. Defense is good, but they're forced to stay on the field long enough to fatigue and then the game gets ugly.

The offense for Graves is going to struggle probably for the whole season. They've got Murray and Union County the next two weeks before starting district play. Brutal schedule for them.

I was there until about 2 and a half minutes left in the 3rd. There were NO indications something like this was going to happen. Absolute travesty.

Mayfield safety. 9-0

Mayfield had a down year last year, and that was still good enough to make the regional finals. With who they return from a year ago, they're the team to beat outside of Beechwood.

From what I've heard, just based on talent, this year should be Owensboro's best chance at a title in probably a long time. Then again, you still gotta play the games, so we'll see how that pans out.

Graves never shies away from playing a tough schedule. Helps that two of the regional rivalries are Mayfield and Tilghman.

As a GC alum, I've been to quite a few games there myself, but I'll have to take a look when the new season starts to refresh my memory. Ryan Mathis and Jordyn Naranjo from the 2019 class are the all time leading scorers now.

Graves also hasn't won a regional tournament game the last 7 years, so I'm more partial to new blood taking the helm and seeing if they could breathe new life into the program. Currently on the longest stretch in program history without even winning one tournament game.

As a Graves guy myself, Overstreet would be my choice. The top two returning players are juniors next year, so there's plenty of talent to work with. Overstreet's track record with Tilghman makes me believe he's better suited for the role here.

Apparently Davis won't have Woodfork to work with next year, heard he transferred to McCracken. New coach won't change much if they just keep losing talent.
