Paducah Tilghman 49 Graves County 14

Word of the night for PT was vanilla. Not sure if they are holding back for next week or they just didn't have it tonight, but this was a whole different PT team than we're used to seeing.

PT was content with just running the ball and they ran it a lot. They didn't get their speed and playmakers near as many opportunities as usual. Again, kinda weird for this team.

The Graves defense is better than the first two weeks scores show. They get left on the field way too much for the most part.

Graves just doesn't have enough offensive pieces yet to sustain drives. They are young and will keep getting better. They showed some flashes here and there.

Graves goes to Murray next week, PT gets their first home game against Mayfield.

Based on the offense, Graves might be winless going into district play.

At Murray next week, then host Union County before getting Owensboro.

Defense is good, but they're forced to stay on the field long enough to fatigue and then the game gets ugly.

I asked myself if we were holding back all night. Playmaker’s not getting the ball, lack of excitement all night,  it’s for sure a different team than we are used to seeing even from last week. McCracken is definitely better then Graves right now in my opinion though.

That’s called the game of football. It’s not going to be pass happy like the last 3 years every game. Graves is pretty sound defensively, they was in position on pass plays and was hitting all night. You can’t pass every play and stop the clock when it’s incomplete and give the opponent chance after chance and put your defense in bad positions, last week yea we scored 63 points but it should have been 35-7 at halftime. If we’d manage the game better but we kept giving the chances to stay in it and the game wasn’t over until 11 o’clock because of all the passing.

I think this Graves team from last Fridays was a massive improvement.  They are extremely young on both sides of the football and seem to make a lot of self inflicted mistakes that set them back.  If they make another jump similar to this one next week they will be fine in a few weeks.

Yep, if they can get a couple consistent playmakers on offense, they could create some problems. Jace Houston flat out has some wheels on him and could cause some trouble if he could get time to make a play.
