CAL was missing some players too so I think you have it right for Oboro, disaster...

From what I saw in this game. Owensboro’s offensive line is terrible. No way around it. CAL was without their 5 star DL and still had their way up front.

Are the alarm bells ringing for Oboro now?

Obviously they were expected to be better than their performances thus far, but the season's still young.

Next week might be the real eye-opener, though.

Huh??? Next week?   They are going to get plastered.  There’s no eye-opening now.

Owensboro can beat Daviess County.  They need to circle the wagons; don't talk to people talking negative; commit to playing their hardest next week and move on.

Owensboro was never going to beat X or CAL this year.  Should they have played better against those teams?  Probably yes, but that's like saying I just got knocked out by Muhammad Ali but I hit him a couple times.  You weren't winning anyway.  Move on!

But if the bus falls off the Daviess County bridge, then there is a problem cause a really talented Aces team comes to Rash the week after that!  Big game Friday Red Devils!

For all the Boro line talk, a reminder that CAL is without its starting RG and RT….played a Freshman at RT and the long snapper at RG tonight. 

Chemistry and sum of parts-wise, this CAL team eclipses last year’s by a decent margin…

My bad. I had just gotten home from another game and was exhausted. That usually doesn't happen lol.

Honestly, I thought CAL would win, but with a few of the players that were out tonight, I didn’t think it would be by a running clock.  No other way to put it other than Owensboro’s O-line & even D-line aren’t very good right now.  It does you no good to have a D1 RB with 4.4 speed if he gets hit within a yard or two of getting the ball & can’t get going.  It does you no good have a WR playmaker if the QB has zero time to get him the ball.  I really believe the Pikeville team CAL played last week is better than this Owensboro team & that surprises me.

Offensively, CAL probably could have named their score.  The only thing that stopped CAL was CAL.  Early on Owensboro tried to stop the run with 6 in the box & they were getting mauled.  CAL RBs were gaining 5 yards before being even touched.  Owensboro then eventually started putting 8 in the box & were getting torched with the pass.  It was basically pick your poison for the Red Devils, but either way, they weren’t stopping CAL.

CAL is going to be really hard to beat and I can’t imagine anyone in 3A playing close with them right now.

I was thinking next week was Catholic.  They should win next week.

You were probably right in your comment - I was thinking next week was Catholic.  You are correct though if they can’t beat Daviess handily, they are in real trouble.

I noticed that Guy Turner is no longer on the roster for CAL.  What happened there?
