Great point. A good coach and the right players is always a recipe for success. I guess we will find out soon if the Male Bulldogs continue to be a 6A contender and top JCPS football school.

Great perspective and I would agree that would be a not that great since he left record at Waggener. I like Coach Clark and think he would be a fine hire, I guess Wolfe has done such a great job of winning at Male that my expectations of Male is different. However, with the right kids and coach they could continue their success.

I would be shocked. I would think his track record as an HC hasn't been up to the standards of Male. I understand his stops are not on the same level and McCracken has not been great since he left, but who knows.

They return their Freshman QB that played the toughest schedule in KY last season that started after half time of St. X and got better each game. They have a lot of freshman and sophomores that started or got significant playing time across the board. Dline returns everyone but one. DBs return all but 1 corner. Both OLB's return, but they lose both their Inside backers. Offensively they return TE room, one of their main running backs, Their Oline only returns one starter, but several rotated in and will be back, then at WR they return a couple of guys that played a lot, but have a very talented young group of skill players that will be sophomores who will be very very good in the near future.

It def would not be a clock in that game. I do think South beats O though.

This makes me miss when the games were played at WKU. The venue just felt like more people were there.

Congrats to Coach Lopez. I think he was the perfect man for that job and I would love to see him succeed and get Hoptown/Christian County back to being a great team competing at a high level.

Honestly surprised here, but I think this is going to end up being the Red Devils year.

Do we know if this is the same situation that Coach Spader at BG went though last year. He retired at Christmas break due to having enough years in education, but had to formally apply to be head coach and had to wait 3 months before rejoining as head coach.

There is nothing wrong with it at all. I love community support and think that is what makes high school sports, especially football, so special.

I agree with this comment, but it still baffles me the fraternity that is NKY football. They act like they are the best area in the whole state of KY for football, but yet areas like Louisville and South Central KY consistently beat them.

If you just compare the only common opponent, Atherton lost to Manual 33-21 while SW beat Manual 27-17.

Is it just me or in NKY football over rated. Outside of Beechwood, they never seem to get the job done. Sure there will be a good Cov. Cath or Highlands team that will make a run, but compared to all the noise NKY makes, they don't really seem to do much come playoffs.

I would think Coach Dustin Lopez would be in the running for the job. He has done a decent job with Hoptown the past few years and has built relationships around the community. I do think it would be hard to take on the consolidated job being the head coach of one of the two that is combining. People would be quick to pull the "favoritism" card if he were to play a former Hoptown kid over a former Christian County kid.

Seeing four of these kids live, my vote would go to Cam. He has been consistently great for three years. He lead his team to two state runners up seasons and then fell to a really good Scott Co. team that may go on an win the whole thing. His stats are great his accuracy is unreal and he will be a great addition to WKU next season.

Based on their record BG is having a down year, but they have not been beaten "handily" by anyone other than SW and that includes X and CAL, who "handily" beat O. Along with close games against Franklin Co., Scott Co., and Catholic. Not saying BG would beat O, but I can almost guarantee you they would at least be in the game in the 4th quarter.
