JH hasn’t been “JH” in the past 3 years. They were down 18-7 against a good and veteran Nelson team and fought all the way back and had the game won until another Sophomore (which is almost all of this team) made a mental error at the end of the game and made them pay. I’m not saying JH coaches or players should not be happy with losing but they finally got the offense and passing offense going last night while battling a senior led team. JH is going to be VERY good in the next 2 years. These are building blocks you have to go through to become what JH was in the past. They are close and I’m proud of the fight they showed. Seasons not over yet

This was a GREAT HS football game. Have to give a lot of credit to Nelson and their coaching staff. Honestly the first half was JH football all year long. Mental mistakes and errors from young football players. The 2nd half was a legit fist fight. Each team went blow for blow and Nelson won the game on a QB sneak on 4th and goal at 1. JH fans and coaches were upset because the QB was illegally pushed in the back and aided into the end zone but that’s beside the point. A TERRIFIC football game and the Dawgs grew up in the 2nd half. Don’t know much about Logan or Warren East but both teams are going to be tough outs in the playoffs. Great game and proud of how JH fought in this one.

This is going to be a really good game. JH has struggled offensively but they have now had 2 weeks to come up with a game plan vs Nelson. At the beginning of the year I thought Nelson would be a bit better than they currently are. Especially with their top RB out due to an ACL injury. This one will be a dog fight though and will likely come down to turnovers and who can move the ball more consistent tonight. JHs defense has been very stout vs the run so far this year. I think it'll be a 1 possession game but ill give a SLIGHT advantage to JH at home. Biased prediction has the Dawgs pulling out a close one at home. JH - 24 Nelson - 21

North Hardin is forfeiting the last 2 district games played (at least) due to playing an ineligible player. This now makes the Central Hardin vs Barren County game a District Championship game and the North Hardin vs Warren Central game is now for 3rd and 4th place. I have tagged @NateInSportsbelow with his tweet on the situation as NH has kept things VERY quiet the past couple of days....

NH has kept everything very quiet. I have heard about this since Saturday morning with some close to the program. Nate Bryan made a tweet on it and I tagged it below. Sounds like North played an ineligible player the past 2 weeks and now are paying the consequences. I have heard multiple people talk about NH having to forfeit games due to an ineligible player and this now becomes a District Championship game. Interesting game and it might depend which Barren County team shows up but ill take Central in a close game.

Interested to see what you think about the matchups of District 1 v 2 in playoffs. How close are Logan, WE and ACS to Bardstown JH and Nelson? I think there are going to be some very good playoff games between these 2 districts.

Huge 4A District 2 matchup in Elizabethtown Friday night. Both teams are 2-1 in district and this game will decide who will host a playoff game. JH (4-4) lost to Bardstown 31-0 two weeks ago and had a bye week last week. Nelson County (5-3) lost to Bardstown last week 41-3. Who wins this game and why?

I think Bardstown is beginning to figure it out and will be a very tough out in the playoffs. Team has many weapons and some flaws but I just wouldn’t count out TyTy and company in the playoffs

CC will score a bunch of points vs Harrison. That defense is just very bad. Now offensively I really think Custard is very good. I have a feeling everyone will be impressed with him. I think he could start at other high profile schools. He’s very elusive and has a STRONG arm. CC by 28 but Custard will make some plays.

Young guys just didn’t step up last night. First off, let me say this. TyTy is one of the best players in the state. If you give him ONE small seam he is to the house. Defense played okay but they just broke some huge runs on us. Offensively JH is trying to open the offense which is needed due to young/smaller OLine. JH had some plays last night and they just weren’t able to sustain anything. We also have young receivers that just didn’t make any plays last night. Dropped touchdown passes and all. The Dawgs came prepared but couldn’t rise to the occasion. Bardstown is a very good team and things got out of hand in the 2nd half. I would not be surprised to see Bardstown make a run in the playoffs. JH will be fine and there are lots of things to play for this season. Very interested to see Nelson vs Bardstown next week.

The thing is Hardin County Schools have left JH in the DUST when it comes to enrollment in Hardin County. It is absolutely wild to me that Central Hardin is having to push their incoming Freshman class TO ANOTHER SCHOOL because of lack of classrooms and JH has classrooms that aren't even being used. Enrollment from what I hear is up this year a little but JH has become little brother to NH and CH and the district has just allowed it to happen. I am very interested to see what happens when this battery plant comes in Glendale and will probably force the districts hand. Either way I honestly think the past couple of years has simply been because of lack of numbers. Its really refreshing to see some of the young Dawgs with tremendous talent. The future is bright if the district allows it.

@Hornet34I was impressed with Hancock early in the season when JH played week 1. Is the big RB back from injury? Hope so, he was an impressive physical back! Hancock is a hard working and very physical football team. Good luck the rest of the way!

I think the next 3 years JH football will be back where they are expected to be. Lots of good young football players in the program and I have heard the 8th grade class at Bluegrass is pretty good as well. The combined record for teams they have lost to this year is 17-3. They have also been competitive in every game this year. JH could very well lose this game but this has the potential to be a breakout game for the young Dawgs. Interested to see how they respond

JH (4-3) makes the trip down the Bluegrass Parkway with a huge district matchup vs Bardstown (3-4). Bardstown, led by TyTy Williams has played an extremely tough schedule and has struggled throwing the ball this year. However, I have a strong feeling they are better than their record says they are. TyTy can break a game open in the blink of an eye must be the Bulldogs sole focus. JH coming off a 48-0 win against Thomas Nelson has came a long way from their 2-9 record last season. Their young guys are getting better each week and have a huge opportunity to win what potentially could be a district championship game. I think this game comes down to 2 important details. 1. How will JH stop/slow down TyTy. When Bardstown wins he has huge nights so the Bulldogs must slow him down to give themselves a chance. JH run defense has been stout so it’s an interesting matchup. 2. How does JH manufacture points? They have struggled throwing the ball but they have been opening the offense recently with some shotgun sets and quick screens. I think this is a low scoring game between 2 evenly matched teams. Give me JH with the upset. JH - 24 Bardstown - 20

JH came to play today with starting the day going 4/4 on drives with touchdowns. They are starting to open it up a bit with shotgun/short passes. If they can continue that success they will be a very tough out. Next week is the biggest test of the year at Bardstown. We will see how much this team has grown over the past year in 7 days.

It probably comes down to how modernized the offenses are now. Lots of spread and hurry up and emphasis on scoring points. I do think we have some really good defenses but some really good athletes on the offensive side of the ball with offenses designed to have big plays = lots of points
