  1. Quarterfinal #3 with a start time of 6:30 in Stanford. Who ya got?
  2. Agreed, it will be a great semifinal. I will add that West plays totally different than Wayne and that the way West typically plays will probably help Lincoln County. West tends to gamble defensively and overplay and I'm not sure that's in their best interest versus Lincoln. West has the talent to "upset" Lincoln at home and win the whole region but they will need to be solid defensively. They're a good defensive team so we will see. I think Lincoln-West is a toss-up.
  3. Lincoln jumped Wayne with half court pressure and caught them off guard. Wayne 37 Lincoln 42 1:44 left
  4. Game 2 of the 12th region tournament. Start time is 8:15, who ya got and why?
  5. Game 1 of the 12th region tournament. Start time is 6:30, who ya got and why?
  6. Final in Stanford. Lincoln leads wire to wire. Boyle fought back in the second quarter but Lincoln got off to a run early in the 3rd quarter and didn't look back. Blade Nuckols was huge tonight for them! Happy to see him get all district team recognization. He's been outstanding this season!
  7. Every kid on the floor for Lincoln can shoot the 3. That's been another staple of nearly every team he has coached. So many high school teams have a player or 2 labeled as "non-shooters" but Lincoln just typically doesn't have that same notion. I know in practices, there are A LOT of shooting drills done throughout.
  8. In a tale as old as time, Lincoln County and Boyle County face off for the 45th district championship. Boyle got the win at Boyle, Lincoln got the win at Lincoln during the regular season. Lincoln has been a little off the past few weeks, Boyle has looked as good as they have the whole season the past few weeks with the motor of Tarter and Quisenberry finding his footing from football season. Who ya got and why?
  9. I'm not a person who tends to bring foul calls into play because there are a lot of factors that influence games, but I also think Boyle got away with a lot. Cooper had two hands put on him every time he drove and was wrapped up every time he attempted to get open against Boyle's press. It seemed like as long as Quisenberry drove in the final 5 minutes there would be a foul. That wasn't the case for Cooper, he would drive and get his shoulders past a defender, they'd put two hands on him to slow him down, no whistle. Give Boyle credit, they fought, persevered, and made some big shots down the stretch to secure the win. Quisenberry, Tarter, and Turner were huge. Myers made some really big shots for Boyle in key moments. The championship comes down to familiar foes in a familiar situation. It'll be Lincoln vs Boyle for yet another 45th district championship.
  10. Who ya got and by what margin? Going to be a fun night in Stanford!
  11. Lincoln County vs Danville at 6:00 Boyle County vs Garrard County at 7:30 Who ya got and by what margin? Should be a fun night.
  12. Anyone in the 45th district out of Region 12 is going to be in a dog fight to make it to region. A team (DCA) that upset top 20 ranked Evangel Christian is ranked 4th in the 45th district out of 6 teams. According to the BGP weekly rankings, 4 out of the 6 teams in this district are ranked in the top 7 of the entire region. DCA got eliminated last night by Danville (#5 or 6,I can't remember right off, in BGP weekly rankings for R12), and Danville now plays #1 seed Lincoln County (#1 in BGP weekly ranking for R12), where Danville beat Lincoln on their floor only 2 weeks ago. District is being held at Lincoln. On the other side, Garrard County and Boyle County (#3 in BGP weekly ranking for R12) match-up in the 2/3 game of the district tournament. In the two in-season games, both games were decided by a combined 4 points. Arguably Boyle's best player, who left Garrard County where he was also a standout basketball player, last season. Should be fun!
  13. Agree with everything you just said. Brown is going to be a very, very good player as he continues to progress as a player. DCA started the year 11-4 and ended 3-11. Not really sure what went wrong, other teams meshed and got stronger as the year went on and maybe DCA just peaked too early. From a sheer size standpoint, they have as much length as anybody in the region. They have a good coach in Don Story, next year they will have another chance to get it right in the postseason with Dut and Imfield being seniors.
  14. They key for Lincoln to make it to region at this point is getting Colton Ralston going again. In this stretch where they have struggled, he has struggled offensively. Give him credit because even through these struggles he has kept his head up, defended, rebounded, and passed extremely well. They need his scoring, especially from the 3pt line, to escape this tough district.
  15. I agree. Definitely need to play JV players. I'm glad KSD is participating! Garrard can rest their varsity players and their younger guys get to have played in a 45th district tournament game.
  16. 45th district tournament time begins tomorrow for boys and girls. DCA and Danville Ssquare off at 7:30 in Stanford. Garrard and KSD square off at Garrard County.
  17. I'm just stating facts. We all know it's easier to rebound against zones and he went to town against Lincoln. He's hard to put a body on. He's a great rebounder in general, but even better when teams are in a zone.
  18. I agree with everything you've said. I will add this, Lincoln played Boyle zone and it was effective but Boyle shot well that night (which we all agree they're inconsistent shooting the 3) but that zone also allowed Tarter (Hager to a degree did as well) to kill Lincoln County, he absolutely ate them alive on the offensive boards. Boyle has a couple ways they can beat you and they're a very solid defensive team as of lately.
  19. Some illnesses have struck. Ralston was pretty sick and you can tell he still doesn't have his legs under him. Alcorn was extremely sick last week and tried to play through it. They have had some serious shooting issues lately as well. They've still looked good defensively but the offense has not been nearly as fluid as it was earlier in the year. I attribute that, in part, to some really good scouting my in-district teams.
