  1. Lots of athleticism on the floor tonight. Didn't think there was a ton of difference in the two teams other than these: 1) DCA made timely shots and Boyle did not. Boyle really struggled shooting in general. 2) Rim protection from Ayiei was huge. He probably had 8 blocks.
  2. Final per KHSAA scoreboard. Coach McRay's first win as a head coach.
  3. It will be fun to see how the region shakes out! As always.
  4. Final per KHSAA. Quite a game to lead off with for both teams, considering both are projected to be in the upper tier of the 12th region.
  5. Dumphord is now officially listed on Wayne County's roster. In my mind, and I could be totally wrong by end of season, that makes Wayne the favorite now. That adds even more size and athleticism.
  6. Definitely agree with this. Like @LethalPG mentioned, they have the most talent and should be considered favorites. I also think @titan101 is exactly right, they really should have gotten out of district last year but lacked the game sense at that time to take down Botle County, who has the pedigree. The log jam of new bodies will take time to sort out for DCA but at the end of the day, it's a good problem for them to have.
  7. Heard that Fugate, who transferred from Garrard to DCA, will be eligible this season. Big news for them and the 12th region!
  8. Very true about Pulaski and Lincoln, it's nice to have a large pool to pick from. Love hearing that for Somerset, I've always been a fan of Coach Young.
  9. Boyle County was undervalued all season on every metric I saw. Their offense is next level talented, especially in the 12th region. There will be some questions on their back line going into next season but the offense isn't going anywhere. The 12th is theirs to lose by a mile, even with West being in it; just my opinion. Congrats to Bethlehem. Shutting down their offense and holding down a clean sheet is very commendable.
  10. Lincoln will do their thing, so this may be the slowest tempo they've played at since the Blake Smith/Riley Bodner days. Who else does Pulaski have other than Fraley? I know he's very talented and can do a ton of damage by himself, but they won't win another region without more help. I've got the same question for Somerset. Young is a great coach, and they've got a tremendous backcourt, but who else do they have? That's a legitimate question, no jabs or anything. I need to get to a game this season. DCA unquestionably has a boatload of talent but I got to watch them several times last season and the lack of basketball feel in key moments really haunted them, even with Don Story as coach.
  11. If Dumphord is playing for Wayne and the chemistry is right they will be the team to beat. Wayne was pretty scary last season and didn't have him; they're relatively young as well. Hearing DCA is worried Fugate won't be eligible but regardless, they will be a hand full with all the size, as @LethalPG mentioned. Somerset is going to be tough to match up with and will be a team nobody wants in the postseason. I've also heard that there won't be a Bishop for Lincoln which is part of the reason Jackson went and got the Horton twins back. I'm really excited to see what the 12th region holds this season. As everyone has mentioned, it's a little more spread out than usual and there are plenty of teams who could make some noise.
  12. Massive upset! Coach Nash for Central is very good at what he does, though, so they had a shot at it and his girls bought in and made it happen. Congrats to them!
  13. Garrard County secures their first home playoff game since 2014 and a district championship game vs Mercer County at Dyehouse Stadium. Garrard County forces 4 fumbles in the second half. Cam Peak rushes for 3 TDs. Impressive showing for Garrard in the road in this district contest.
  14. 41-7 Garrard. JV has entered the field for the Golden Lions.
