Final in Stanford. Lincoln leads wire to wire. Boyle fought back in the second quarter but Lincoln got off to a run early in the 3rd quarter and didn't look back. 

Blade Nuckols was huge tonight for them! Happy to see him get all district team recognization. He's been outstanding this season!

Well, watching Lincoln was like watching a coaching clinic. They just did everything right. Great game plan and it was flawlessly executed. Such a balanced, unselfish team that’s good on both sides of the ball. Every player on the floor for them, at all times, can score. They are playing well heading into region. 

 

Boyle just didn’t have the firepower. That’s been an issue for them all year and it really hurt them tonight. It’ll be tough for them to score enough points to beat a Lincoln or a West Jessamine.

Kid has been an X-Factor.  Kids grow up wanting to play in the program.  Tradition never graduates applies to Lincoln Co. Basketball. 

That's five straight district titles for Lincoln County and nine in 10 years, all under coach Jeff Jackson, who does a pretty nice job year in and year out. I think he's pushing 400 career wins at Lincoln. His son James Jackson coaches the Lincoln County girls.

Lincoln is just a machine that's tough to beat.  It's a testament to how good Jackson is as a coach and program builder.

That they are but it is also a plus when you get to play at home.  Not saying that they would have lost if not for being at home.  Lincoln hit some big shots and Boyle didn't.  Boyle shooting troubles came back to hurt them again.  28% from the field the first half to Lincolns 52% and Boyle shoot 26% from the free throw line the 1st half.  

Coach Jackson has those kids believing that they are winners every time they step onto the floor. They trust Jackson’s system and they win with tenacious teamwork. All coaches in the 45th need to take notes and strive to build structure like that. All 5 players are a threat to score and they don’t mind to let each other excel in any given game!

FWIW, Lincoln is 4-1 at home against Boyle in district tournament games since Jackson took over; 3-1 against Boyle at Boyle in the district tournament. Oddly enough, Lincoln is only 1-2 in home games against Boyle in the regional tournament.

That is true but has you know it does help to be playing at home with your home crowd.

Boyles 2015, 2021 region wins keeping it a rivalry. I’m sure LC would trade a few of those districts for those two wins instead

I'm still puzzled as to why the 12th Region ADs have all agreed that only Lincoln and Pulaski will host the regional and it's not rotated to a few more schools/locations.  I know there's not a great "neutral" venue to host like how the 9th has NKU and the 4th has WKU but it's always struck me as odd.

In the way back, the 9th rotated between Holmes and Conner for, I think, decades because they were the biggest/newest gyms. 

As for a  neutral university site, be careful what you wish for. A future realignment might push Madison Central, Madison Southern and Berea into the 12th. You could have EKU that way, but ow!

Many years ago the 12 region use to rotate the regional tournaments to all the schools.  But they have since have said that Pulaski and Lincoln are the most central of all the 12 region schools.

Lincoln is the southern most of the two northern districts and Pulaski is the northern most of the two southern districts (if we ignore Rockcastle and Casey as outliers—Casey used to be in the both 45th and 46th at different times, and Rockcastle was in the 13th Region for a while). 

I remember when it rotated between schools, and I remember watching Harrodsburg and Mercer County played for the title at Wayne County. 
 

This current set up intends to avoid those kinds of oddities. 

The way I see it, if a school is in the region, they’re in the region. It should be rotated with some sort of requirement of minimum gym capacity. It’s an absolute shame that Mercer hasn’t been able to host. It’s the best venue in the region given its size and age, and it has ample parking.
 

It only adds fuel to the fire that Lincoln and Pulaski are always in the hunt and are getting home court advantage every other year. Are there other regions that limit it to one or two schools hosting region?
