Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
Would you say Bodner is the biggest contributor of those seniors?

Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
I was advocating a few weeks ago that Corbin was the #2 team in the state and I feel even better about that after this game. Corbin had a chance to win that game and no one else was even close to doing that against the Rebels this year.

Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
Well said. Cov Cath probably beats 99% of the teams in Kentucky, and Boyle is probably the only one that can truly dominate them like this.

Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
So in my mind, I would consider those Central KY and separate from Lexington. I think Lexington, Louisville, CKY, NKY, WKY, and EKY are the areas that could be compared against each other. Scott County and Franklin County seem comparable to Dixie Heights and Highlands, good teams but ultimately not champions, and an area should be headlined by their champions (if they have any).

Boyle is really spreading it out. They are more than just Tavey and showing it tonight. Scary thing is a lot of those players are juniors. Should we go ahead and give them the 2024 trophy too?

My bad, you are totally right! I was absolutely focused on the public schools.

Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
I think in order for any area to have a legitimate claim as a state power, there needs to be at least one champion. Lexington is undoubtedly mediocre without Freddy D and Station, but is NKY really that good if none of those teams are able to bring home a state championship? Not to mention that NKY is probably the best represented across all 6 classes. This would be a good off-season topic.

Good Lord, that line for Boyle is crushing them. #56 in Blue just gets completely blown up.

I agree with you, but devil's advocate: EKY and WKY had a champion already so that is something they can say that NKY can't (at least yet).

Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
It's not fair to say that just based on this game. Boyle is unstoppable. Now if Cooper gets boat raced tomorrow, then I think you have a good point. But I don't think anyone other than Corbin and Trinity could hold a candle to this Boyle team.

Tavey isn't the only former Golden Lion that's now making plays for the Rebels.

Open Job: East Jessamine
More than 0, but just barely. That goes for all sports there, not just football.

Bengals at Jaguars Predictions/Updates
As far as this game goes, I'm not really sure what we can expect to be different from last week. Zac Taylor is 4-20 as a HC without Burrow. I look for that to be 4-21 after Monday.

Bengals at Jaguars Predictions/Updates
CBS Sports Article So I think they can flex MNF but with enough warning, there is not enough time left to flex us out of this game. This was discussed an off-season or two ago and some teams (I think the Bengals were one of them) were vehemently against this idea, but ultimately the NFL won out.

Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
Will there be any Boyle administrators questioning if people from Covington can count to 100?

Steelers 16 Bengals 10
The Bengals had a grand total of 37 (26 throws and 11 rushes) plays today. 10 of those plays came on 3rd down (2-10 btw). Mixon had 16 yards on 8 carries with a long of 4. He clearly wasn't being efficient and the situations didn't really lend themselves to running more. The holes were there on some plays and Mixon just doesn't hit them like he used to. What I don't understand is where are the other backs like Williams or Brown?

Steelers 16 Bengals 10
I thought Browning played well considering the O-line he has, the D-line he was going up against, and the lack of Tee Higgins

Steelers 16 Bengals 10
Most concerning thing about this game was the defense giving up over 400 yards.

Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
They are a very selfless team, no doubt about that. Boyle is capable of beating you so many ways on offense. Quisenbery, D Brown, and G Brown can get outside of the tackles and just run right by you. Bodner (and the others) can run in between the tackles. Dawson can is a threat to run or throw on every play too.

Covington Catholic 22 Paducah Tilghman 14
A runner-up season against an EKY team.

Covington Catholic 22 Paducah Tilghman 14
Then start beating those teams. When's the last time a team from Western KY beat a power from Central or Eastern KY? Outside of Mayfield, what other programs in the far west part of our state are competing with (and winning) against the state's top programs? It's hard to call it disrespectful when a team like PT is ranked at 4 through 7 all year and then watch them lose in the semi finals to a team that was ranked higher than them all year, it sounds like good rankings all year.

Christian Academy of Louisville vs. Bell County Predictions/Updates (3A State Championship)
Agree. Of all 6 games, I look for this one to have the most lopsided score.
-
Boyle County 41 Franklin County 14
Outside of a shootout with LCA (a program that always plays them well) in August the Rebels have held every team they've played to 21 and under. Many of the points have come against the 2nd string. So much attention gets paid to the offense because of their sensational athletes. There's no doubt it is fun to watch players like Tavey or Brown juke and outrun everyone on the other team, but this Rebel Defense has been equally impressive all year long.

Boyle County vs. Covington Catholic Predictions/Updates (4A State Championship)
Boyle has too much speed at WR for Cov Cath, and the Rebel Defense has been playing lights out all year. Boyle will win another state title this year and people will need to start comparing how this era of dominance matches up with their run in the late 90's/early 00's. Boyle 36 Cov Cath 14

Cooper at Highlands Predictions/Updates
The shank of all shanks right there. Highlands didn't even come after that.
