More likely Western Hills and Frankfort in the 8th and Franklin County in the 11th.

With the new KHSAA alignment coming, there’s a strong possibility that they won’t be in the 11th region anymore.

Time to bring back East Jessamine’s greatest player, Butch Jointer, to take over. He had a decent run at Frankfort and his kid is legit.

Having baggage would be an understatement. Christian County may have bit off more than they can chew.

Move all schools from the 5th that are on Central time to the 3rd or 4th. Move Meade to the 5th with schools on Eastern time. Move the 4 NKY from the 8th to the 10th. Move Frankfort and western hills to 8th. Put Woodford and GRC in the 11th. Makes for less travel and greater parity across the board. Maybe move the Bullitts to the 5th as well. By the nature of population centers some regions would have 15 or 16 teams and some would have 20 or 22.

By Redbook laws booster organizations can not pay any stipends for any school employees and that includes coaches. They can donate funds to the district as long as it doesn’t go over district guidelines. Any donations would be a matter of public record so anyone can see them. So if there is a school using a “pool” of money to pay coaches, they may be violating state law and we would probably fail their annual state audit.

Finally someone on here who actually understands why schools exist in the first place. So many on here trying to live vicariously thru high school kids is really sad.

"Coach Mo" has 20+ yrs. of experience. He has 20+ former players now at the college level, and an NBA 1st round draft pick. He has won 2 district titles and been to 3 regional finals in KY, as well as a State Final 4 in NC.

The FHS principal went to Woodford and is taking people with him to surround himself with those he knows. The incumbents at Woodford may not take well to his additions.

I think he will be the 1st African American football head coach at any of the 3 high schools. Frankfort has had African American head coaches in boys and girls basketball. Don’t think the other 2 have had an African American head coach in any of the major sports.

The previous coach was just let go 2 weeks ago. No one hires a coach in 2 weeks. Surely other programs wouldn’t tamper with student athletes now would they?

The 2 schools didn’t play the previous 20 years either. Why would a very small Class A school want to play a school 4 times larger.

Using free and reduced lunch numbers won’t work in Ky because the state has so many districts that have free lunch for all kids. When that is done there is no reduced numbers to use. There is merit in using school budgets / resources to determine classifications. Pikeville has far more resources than any other Class A school. They should be a Class AA or a AAA. Conversely a school like Ohio Co based solely on enrollment is a 4 or 5A but based on resources should be a 2A or even a 1A. Also they should look at a school’s 5 year success rate. There are several schools with large enrollments that never perform well. Those schools should play down. It’s not about everyone being equal. It’s about making everything more competitive across the board.

With all of those athletes at Eastern, that would be a great fit for the Atchley guy at Frankfort.
