In the early 70’s, Bo Yeast was like Barry Sanders, Jim Brown and Walter Payton in this area. If you ever saw a KY Advocate(Saturday night/Sunday morning in the fall) prepped by Bill & Larry Vaught, you may remember those days.

 

50 years later on our podcast, we ask Craig Yeast, who was the BEST Yeast to play for Harrodsburg HS?

 

I can say this, over the past 8 years, there is ONE name that I ‘ve heard, consistently, and it is from people that would know.

 

If you are not from Harrodsburg, the name may surprise you.

Bo, even though all the rest were really good. Played a lot of sports against him in high school and a lot with him in college.   Just a really good athlete and super nice guy. Still friends today.

Craig Yeast and Michael Bush are the two best high school players I’ve ever watched in person. Craig’s performance against Bardstown in the 1991 Region title game was epic.

Nick had the best overall career.  Two national titles and two runners up at EKU.

After Craig, Nicky Yeast was my favorite. Never saw him play for the Pioneers but watched every EKU home game in person during the '81 & '82 seasons. I bought a Tampa Bay Bandits hat after they drafted him.
