But 17-14 this season. Odd timing.

I don’t agree with this. His seat was probably warm going into the season. Then you miss the region tournament and get beat by Trinity Christian. I know some things happened that were out of his control, but let’s not act like 17-14 and a first round loss in the district is something that is job saving worthy.

I understand your point, but it needs context. If they had made this change last year I wouldn’t have had an issue. No disrespect to East but they are rarely good in boys basketball, and that’s been the case for a long time. When was the last time they made region? Not making it out of district isn’t unusual for that program so that shouldn’t be a trigger to fire a coach.

So, they’re patient with this coach for 3 years. They go 9-21 last year (which was an improvement) and then improve significantly to 17-14 this year. Yes, they ended the season with a bad loss, but the trajectory of the program was clearly positive. And this won’t be a highly sought after job.

Went to the region in both 2020 and 2021 (the '21 team beat Rockcastle in the first round before losing to Boyle). Prior to that, East hadn't been to region since 2014.

East has some good pieces coming back.  Miyo Jones was an all-region selection and a few other returning starters as well.  I wouldn't call it a great job, but with the area it's in not a bad one.

Time to bring back East Jessamine’s greatest player, Butch Jointer, to take over.   He had a decent run at Frankfort and his kid is legit.

And East has an 8th Grader that is really good. I think they won the salt river conference this year.

Based on what's being talked about the Open: West Jessamine thread it sounds like there needs to be a concerted effort to keep him a Jaguar next year....
