Whitley's Shane Parker is someone that deserves some attention. 384 yards rushing with 5 TDs in Week 1. He may creep his way into the Mr. Football conversation.

6A Campbell County (1-0) at 5A Southwestern (0-1) Radio: Lake Cumberland Sports Stream: Lake Cumberland Sports Tale of the Tape: The Camels make their way to Pulaski County on Saturday to take on the Southwestern Warriors. Campbell County opened their season last week with a victory over Scott that lit the scoreboard on fire. In contrast, the Warriors played a low scoring slugfest that resulted in a one possession loss to Barren County. This one will likely be close. Can the Warriors get back on track, or do the Camels get the victory and remain undefeated? Note: This game begins at 2pm on Saturday.

For what it’s worth, I was not very impressed by Anderson in 7 on 7. Obviously it’s a different game when the pads come on, but I think Cooper fares better than many people think.

5A Southwestern (0-0) at 5A Barren County (0-0) Radio: Lake Cumberland Sports Stream: BCHS Live (Youtube) Tale of the Tape: The Trojans make the move to 5A where they are set to host the Warriors in Week 1. Both teams are coming off region title appearances last season, with Barren County having one of their most successful seasons in school history. This matchup will likely be a ground and pound slugfest so it is likely this game is decided in the trenches. Barren returns their leading rusher, Daylan Thomas, who is a very fun back to watch in the Trojans Wing T offense. BC looks to have some consistency in the program for the first time in a long time led, in part, by head coach John Myers. Will they start this season off on the right foot, or can the Warriors steal one on the road? The Warriors are without their leading rusher and receiver from last season, but there are many young men waiting to fill the gaps. Furthermore, coach Mark Payne has returned to call the defense for SW. Coach Payne was the most successful DC in Foley's tenure during his first stint—can he continue that success this season? This one should be a close one, who wins and why?

Anderson, Ryle, Highlands, and Manual are objectively tough games. Not to mention SK in week 11. Allow me to spell this out for you. Teams only have the option to schedule 6 games (given a typical 5 team district); thus, to have 80% of those games against fantastic opponents is definitely scheduling tough.

Cooper’s longest drive to an away game will be less than a half hour this season. That is an awesome feat considering how tough they scheduled. A testament to NKY football, I reckon.

I believe the Week 2 game against Campbell County will be on Saturday, August 30th at 2pm.

Corley had one FBS D1 offer. I would imagine if he played for Trinity he would’ve had a lot more. I’m sure there were plenty of coaches that wished they spent a little time in Cville by his redshirt freshman season at WKU.

You are correct. This Greer saga has been less than desirable to say the least.
