  1. It felt as if their announcers are lowkey fans of the Devils. I’ve never heard them talk good about other teams like they did the Devils tonight.
  2. Kingston Dillard. He was #5 last year I believe. I’m obviously biased but I’ve been saying since last year that he’s a top 3 receiver in the state.
  3. Cardinals look good! Devils need to clean up their play.
  4. O has been without 3-4 starters on defense since the 1st 2 series on defense.
  5. The line is a concern of mine. Was last year also until the mid season and O still had their way with Mayfield. That was with Ganaway Jr getting his first snaps as a Red Devil. Now there’s more chemistry and all his star WR’s return. Even then I don’t think the Red Devils offense will be the Cardinals biggest test. It’s the Devils defense. They basically return 9 starters on a championship defense that has 3 legit D1 athletes and a couple of D2. Unless I’m missing something and Mayfield picked up some super stars or returns their entire team I don’t see why the outcome will be much different than last year…. If O’s line is as down as everybody thinks maybe this could end up being a long season for the Devils. I guess we’ll know by tomorrow.
  6. Cardinals are always a worthy opponent who never lays down no matter who’s across from them. And if they’re as good as mentioned this should be a good battle in the beginning.. However, the Red Devils return a lot of star power with some new upcoming stars hitting the field. I would be a little surprised if this scrimmage is close. Expectations are high at 1800 Frederica street. A close game/scrimmage with any 2A school this year would definitely fizzle out those expectations.
  7. He can play. With the stable/depth of WR’s and GJ at QB. If the line can buy just a slither of time this offense has the potential to light the score board up as much as last year or more. That CAL game could turn out to be an interesting one.
  8. OC this year reminds me of last years Cooper squad. Cooper returned a top level QB but without the supporting pieces they made an early exit. OC will be district good and might make some noise in the playoffs but as far as a state title contender or a top team in the state, that ship might have sailed. The past 2-3 years OC has been loaded and still couldn’t get over that hump… They most likely will take a step back this year with so many new faces in the mix. One thing will remain. Teams will have to earn a victory against the Aces, they’re well coached and always aggressive.
  9. What has Apollo gained that brings this thought process? I would like to believe Apollo can make noise but they’ve struggled with consistency for years. What’s change this season that make you believe they have 8-2 potential? It could be argued that Apollo has more to replace than most teams in the district besides MNHS.
  10. Season being only 3 months away along Pulaski arguably having the toughest schedule of anyone in 5A. With the toughest opponents showing up early on. You’d think it would have to be an in house hire.
  11. Why would he leave? The future for Pulaski seemed to be bright.
  12. It’s going to be really hard to fill the shoes of the Hampton twins and Muster along with some other pretty solid seniors from this past season. But in saying that I think this year’s team has the potential to be as good or better than last years team(on paper). All of our WR’s return. One of the best MLB’s in the state, 3 of our Starting DB’s and the QB returns. Another potential future Mr Football candidate coming up in RB Gavin Walker…. Does that automatically equate to winning 5A? I’m not sure but I hope it does.
  13. I see what you’re saying. But running through the back half of your schedule doesn’t prepare you for the playoffs especially when your district opponents are consistently ranked amongst the lowest in the state regardless of class. Those types of wins give a false confidence. Maybe, move Manual towards the end of the schedule game 8-10.
  14. Atherton should strengthen their schedule a little bit. Manual is good but they need 2-3 more challenges. They should run through this schedule with what they have returning.
  15. A lot of to be excited for, if you’re a Red Devils fan. One thing that won’t be lacking is speed.
  16. Basham would be my guess.
  17. Can turn him into a Dlineman. We need a replacement for Muster.
  18. I’m sure there won't be any lack of talent at Christian County. There will be at least a few studs. How they’re coached up along with the development of discipline and culture will determine their success.
  19. Demarcus Ganaway Jr. might be in the hunt. His numbers will increase with the stable of receivers O returns and the loss of Hampton at RB. Wouldn’t surprise me if his numbers are better than Carothers from OC
  20. ?… CAL is LOADED!!! Sucks for Ravens as I’m sure they wanted to build around him.
  21. Yellow Jackets return a lot on offense wouldn’t surprise me at all to see them back in the semi’s.
  22. New coach at X along with no Harbin. Hopefully we can give X a game. CAL definitely sounds like a long shot.
  23. Defense will likely carry the team through pre-season and first couple of games while the Oline learns to gel together. Mid season Devils should be rolling… Wonder what the schedule is going to look like non district.
  24. 3A, competition wise has to be the weakest of the 6 classes with the top being so separated from the rest. Did any 3A team not named CAL crack the state top 25?
