They both handled BG the same way. I’d say SW is more disciplined but Atherton is more talented, by a decent margin at that.

Owensboros defense might be on par with Ballard with Pollum in the line up.

This and I’m not sure Wofo’s defense is better than O’Caths or Greenwood’s. Collins score 24 or more in both games. I don’t see Collin’s offense being on the same level as the Red Devils… Something I haven’t seen mentioned yet is turnovers. That will play a big factor.

I totally get the sentiment and as an opposing rival to BG, I might of have had some BG ptsd from prior years so that might be why I was holding them to a high regard. But to beat BG the way they did, not even St. X or a loaded CAL could blow the game open the way that Atherton did. It was complete domination in every aspect of the game. I’m not sure Pulaski has the horses to keep pace with Atherton. If Atherton scores 21 or more they win from here on out. I’m not sure any team left can score more than 21 against them. How is Pulaski going to stop Hobbs?

Been watching Woodford tape this am and that’s how I feel. I believe O will have the best front 7 Wofo has seen. Wofo’s QB gets the ball out fast but he doesn’t seem very elusive or fast under pressure and that could mean trouble for the yellow jackets… On offense I wouldn’t say O is an eat the clock up type of team that’s because they usually score pretty fast. Recent games will have you thinking this will be a high scoring shoot out but I think Wofo will be the team eating up clock in this one with short runs quick outs and slants keeping this Devils defense on the field but not sure they cash in on many drives. Give me the Devils 28-21

Hobbs was EVERYWHERE. Him and Grundy?(RB) were game breakers tonight along with really efficient QB play. I’d be nervous if I was Pulaski.

I was thinking of you during the game. You called it a while ago. It’s hard to believe it when you hear the same thing 3 yrs in a row and get the same result. But this year is different.

Edge is a hard nose player. Hard to bring down and fast.

Pollum is a great addition to the Devils DLine at the perfect time. He’s going to be needed against Woodford.

I did not see this coming at all. Athertons QB has impressed me the most. He gets the ball out quick, BG hasn’t been able to get pressure on him at all and Atherton is running at will. I’ll admit I was definitely sleeping on Atherton. I’m definitely awake now. They’re looking like an easy favorite right now.

Would you compare them to Frederick Douglass? I can only seem to find Athertons 1st game of the season against a really bad Central Hardin squad so its really hard to judge how good they are. The Manual close game is impressive.

We’re #11 ahead of Woodford and Johnson Central. Which is cutting it close imo not sure we could beat JC. Only team ahead of us that I believe we can beat is Franklin County but then again they’re undefeated so they should be above us.

North Oldham record is deceiving they weren’t playing the same quality teams that Greenwood was. But Atherton handled North Oldham handily. It will be interesting to see how Atherton reacts to having some adversity. Are they as physical as the Purples?

The only way to slow this Devils team down is long drawn out drives like the Gators did. I don’t see Fairdale being able to do that. Devils go up early fast getting good contributions from Shemwell, Bryant, Green, Fountain, Dillard and Hampton. Devil 56 Bulldogs 7

After last nights performance against Cooper I’d say SC has to be the favorite. Woodford, BG, Atherton all playing good football atm. Any of these teams can beat a non focused/ non executing Devils squad. But if the Devils come to play I like our chances with anyone in 5A…. Can’t wait to see what Pollum does on the DLine. GW pushed our DLine around all night, safeties had to make way too many tackles. I’m hoping he can be the stop to that.

Not sure Atherton has seen the type of pressure BG defense will bring and BG probably hasn’t seen a defense as good as Atherton’s since the South Warren game… Give me the guys in Purple simply because they’re more battle tested and playing their best football at the right time.
