  3. You know, I really can't say that for sure. 6A teams are legit. They are big across the line and usually deep. Any of the top 10 6A teams are worthy IMO. Ballard showed they are no pushover by getting a win over a program like Male. Male has a coach that is second to none. So not many times do you see Trinity, Male, or St. X take a loss unless that team is playing exceptional football. I don't watch alot of the 6A football until the playoffs. I stay in the other 5 honestly. So honestly without watching Ballard closely, I can't say either way. The one thing about Corbin right now, is they have a sophomore QB in Kade Elam that has came in and is a duel threat with a cannon. He is very accurate and now that Cameron Combs is the primary running back and Brody Wells is at multiple positions depending on the play call. Corbin is as dangerous of a team I have seen this year. Its not easy to go on the road and put up 40 points on a rival being Franklin County. So as Corbins offense gels, they are just going to get better. Seeing that Ballard is ranked 4th in 6A and then Male and Madison Central... Those are hard teams for anyone to beat unless your name is ST. X or Trinity...
  4. Yes. Last year if cross districting would have taken place then I think Corbin would have traveled to Lexington Catholic and Johnson Central would have went to Boyle. So the 3rd Round games will be seeded by RPI and who knows right now what that will be with so much of the schedules to be played and all the possibilities of losses still remaining for each team. That Boyle/Frederick Douglass game will have big implications this time around for Boyle and Frederick Douglass. Corbin still has to get past Pulaski, Knox Central and Simon Kenton. Johnson Central may take a loss this Friday and may not. I don't see them losing anymore if they get past this weekend. Lexington Catholic may have the ruffest schedule of the four remaining because they have LCA, Boyle and Scott left. Man, lots of good games left. Before the fun begins.
  5. You noticed I didn't say North was beating anyone... But I think if I'm in town, then I will come and watch this North and Southwestern game. North has a defense that will make Southwestern work for it, I'll guarantee you that right now and last I checked, Johnson Central still had some of the best running backs in the state, and North did there job in that game. Just saying. I liked what I saw in there defense. Boyle can tell you too, it wasn't easy to run against them. Now Southwestern might win, but this North team is not a cupcake...there Defense is for real.
  6. The 3rd round is East only or West only. The 4th round is East and West combined....
  7. I am thinking with the Cross Districting in place, this years 3rd round might look to include the likes of Lexington Catholic in the mix as well. So the RPI no doubt will determine the opponents but it is looking like Right now that Boyle/Lexington Catholic and Corbin/Johnson Central might take place and very well could be a Boyle/JC and a Corbin/Lexington Catholic in round 3. Be some good football games there my friend..Way too early right now to know for sure..
  8. I'm going to give my own vote to North Laurel. They have a defense when healthy that can play with anyone and the offense is getting better week by week. I think Southwestern, Pulaski and North games will be some slobber knockers...
  9. I think 4A is probably as close this year than it has been in a while, usually there is 2 teams way ahead of everyone......I think the 3rd, 4th, and Finals will be some worthy games to attend.....
  10. I think if you go back to just a year ago and look, they lost to Corbin and lost a few more and was really in the same boat.. Franklin County pushed forward and played really good football the rest of last year and had a back and forth game with Johnson Central to fall in the 4th round of the playoffs...so if 4-6 or 10-0, don't count out Franklin County. I do look for Ballard to win this matchup. Ballard 21 Franklin 20
  11. I think Johnson Central wins a close one.....
  12. I appreciate your honesty! that's the way post should be! I have cracked up!
  13. The battle of some unbeatens down in the Mountains. Class 5A Pulaski County (3-0) winning impressingly over Belfry 34-21, Wayne County 55-20 and Lincoln County 36-14. Class 4A Corbin (3-0) with wins over Pikeville 24-19, Whitley County 42-13 and Franklin County 40-20. Both teams have a stingy defense and like to sling the ball all over the field. This game looks to be for bragging rights and to add both are looking to win there District and make a deep run in the Playoffs. Who stays undefeated?
  14. That would be a record attendance if that happens!!
  15. Congratulations Boyle!!
  16. Congratulations Bullitt East!
  17. Congratulations Beechwood!!
  18. Congratulations North Laurel!
