Stationary Defenders Looking To Take A Step Forward In The Win Column

Records: Scott County (2-0) | Bryan Station (0-2)

BGP Ranking: Scott County (#9 in 5A) | Bryan Station (unranked)

Series History: Scott County leads 25-8 all-time

Table Setter: Contrasting narratives swirled around the Cardinals and Defenders as the season kicked off. Station was a top five team in 6A and looked primed to continue their upward trajectory. The Cardinals were trending in the other direction and trying to stay one step ahead of a Great Crossing program closing in fast. Three weeks in, and the perception of both has been altered. The Defenders have fallen from the top ten completely after being worked over by a pair of top ranked teams and Scott County is looking good at 2-0, although some of the shine has come off of the win over Franklin County.

No one is going to confuse the wing-t for the air raid, but quarterback Andrew Hickey has provided a glimpse of Scott County's greater potential on offense. For their part, Station has too many playmakers not to break out at some point, offensively. The defenses they've faced so far deserve most of the blame for the slow start. What better time than now for the Defenders to shift into high gear?

At the outset of the new millennium, this series became more one sided as Jim McKee grew the Cardinals into the program we know today. Prior to last year's 25-21 Station win, Scott County had taken twenty of the previous twenty-one meetings.

Going with Scott County in a battle.

This will be a very good game.  I thought Bryan Station had a solid team in game against Boyle.  Never quit during the game.

Really good game here!  I was really impressed with Scott County in their scrimmage with BG.

But I also know Station has a good team and just played 2 very good teams to start the year.

I'll take them in a close game by a TD.

Oh look at this!!!!!

I am surprised too, I thought it would be close.

Scott Co. gets on the board to make it 20-6 and are driving again to start the 4th quarter.

Scott Co. gets another touchdown early in the 4th quarter the two point conversion is good to now make it 20-14 Station with 8:00 to play.

Scott Co. gets a big interception and return it to the Station 15 yard line.

Scott Co. turns the INT into 6 points and the extra point is good and the Cardinals erase a 20-0 halftime deficit to now lead 21-20 with 5:54 to play.
