What progression do you need to go through after Berger? Lol. It can’t be disappointing to see the Tigers not lose a game in over 2 yrs. If you’re disappointed watching a true Freshman go 6-0, with only 1 turnover, lead a team that just lost a Qb that lead to state titles in 3/4 years, then I cannot help you here. Mitchell Berger from Beechwood has to be considered. Especially when considering All around skills. RB, WR, LB, Kicker, Punter. Prove me wrong.

Agree with this take for the most part. I’m sure they are up for it, but the size upfront will be a big test for BW. BW neutralized this against big schools a lot last year with my guy Slush taking the beating. The Slusher/Vrombrock battle upfront last year was fun to watch. Waddell did his part in the weight room to step in and get massive over the off season, but overall size is about the same. BWs coaching historically negates this with Coach B’s ability to teach techniques and discipline. Hopefully that works against against bigger opponents. The Crone factor is huge, he is ready to explode if ya ask me. We all know this years Mr Football candidate Berger will do his part for BW, and the skill players are loaded. Big test for Cash for sure, but he has done magnificent stepping into Hergott’s shadow as Freshman. Quite frankly, IMO, his style of play fits perfect to pickup where Hergott left off if ya ask me. His field vision is excellent and escapability compliments the offense so naturally. Escape the pressure and get the ball to the playmakers. It’s that simple. A top tier Point Guard is a natural fit. Ya’ll need to quit questioning his ability!? Assuming Crone plays….. BW. 34 SK. 28 Good luck to both teams. Should be a fun game to watch for sure.

And was like a heat seeking missile on that CB at the goal line. He sized him up and bowled him over into end zone. Not many kids look to deliver the blow like he does.

First time I saw the Tigers since State title game. So much talent. Berger was Berger, Campbell exploded off the ball on D, Austin Waddell added even more muscle, was very impressed overall. Above all that, I Can’t wait to see freshman Cash Harney continue to grow in the QB role. He looked very, very comfortable Friday night and took great care of the ball running the offense. Will be fun to watch him week over week.

Confuses me as well. Neither have a lick of Varsity experience yet everyone comments like one is better option than the other before they get it. No matter how it shakes out, I wish them both the best. That being said, I truly hope Cash is given a chance to win the job equally. IMo, he has the field vision to run with the thoroughbreds around him. Don’t believe, look up his basketball highlights. Court/field awareness is second to none. Go Ca$h Go. Never look back. ??

I think it’s a 3 horse race, with Mayfield charging the finish line with LCA and BW. People are very blinded by the loss of Hergott for BW. He meant a ton no doubt, but Defense wins titles. And Beechwood returns damn near everyone on D. It will be just as tough to score on BW this year. I have not seen this Hayden kid play against Varsity competition. But with the pre season hype, rankings, and the fact that Ca$h Harney is knocking on his back door, that should be interesting to watch play out for the young man. If he can handle the pressure and perform, should be another run at 2A title. If he has troubles, IMO, Ca$h slots in as a better replacement for Hergott’s style of play. My BW player to watch is Austin Waddell. Kills me this kid gets zero love. He has transformed into a Beast. Remember his name. Interested to follow LCA and Mayfield this season.

If you’re a football player, the program in titletown is the only place to be. Plain and simple. The banners are hanging to prove it. Good luck wherever you choose young fella!

A lot of folks are gonna be really surprised to see just how many GOOD players there are on Beechwoods team now that they will be relied on more. They lost a lot, but have a lot coming back. 1. Beechwood (You want this spot, take it. Beechwood has earned it until someone else wins the titles. Talk is cheap) where the speculation begins…… 2. SK 3. Ryle 4. Cooper 5. Highlands 6. CCH 7. Dixie Toss ups from here IMO Getting close to kickoff, Keep grinding young fellas!!!

No doubt on the photo. Wasn’t meant in that way. Just to show that at any moment, on any play, something unforeseen or unfortunate may happen. Why risk it?

My comment east because of anything more than protecting kids. CovCath no doubt will never be loved except by their own. They love that, and good for them. This photo proves my point. Games get out of hand and when you’re down that many points and when the other team stays on the gas, you could get this in return. On any play. Really Hope for the CovCath kids that they are able to avoid injuries and make a run at Rupp this year. But I’ve Never seen a team with games in complete control late and coaches leave starters in so long. Heck, saw them pressing up 30 against Beechwood late in game the other night. Starters in until 2 minutes. If anyone is surprised why folks are getting chippy with them, I’m shocked and they don’t know basketball.

Gotta chime in since Beechwood is a common theme here. LCA fans, ya got a great program, great players. But everyone in 2A needs to recognize that when a Beechwood enters the scene, it’s game on. Beechwood plays up every chance they get, anywhere folks will accept them to come in. The kids handle their business, are committed, and work all the time, together. Not saying other don’t, but there are no lock room shenanigans, no one skipping workouts, nothing you see most places. They are focused, and when they get called out or dis-respected, ya better pack your lunch. Because no matter how many stars you next to your name, that BW kid is gonna lay the wood. as far as the championship game goes the last two years, I’ll leave two things here. 1. For whatever reason, this photo and the phrase “It’s in the bag” circled BW, and gave bulletin board material. Right or wrong, it was not received well. And the BW kids took notice. 2. outside your control. Being a NKY team, it’s commonly understood that strength of schedule up here is not appreciated across the Bluegrass. Is what it is. But when you have “local writers” and experts called BW 20+ underdogs…… now 2 people have upset the BW nation and the kids will react. That’s outside your control. NKY football is legit folks. Maybe not everyone, but I challenge any other 2A team to play a CovCath, Dixie, Ryle, Cooper, and whomever else will schedule the Tigers, and see what that score would be. It’s a battle week to week. to wrap, all great conversations on BGP. I’ve greatly enjoyed my 4 years on here, and will continue on. I’m not trying to throw shade here, just pointing out what was behind the back to back state title games from another perspective. Hopefully it’s comes across as intended. Bottom line is LCA is a great program, with great players. It’s not in trouble……. happy new year everyone!

This will be Beechwood. Don’t believe the hype. LCA has NOT seen a defense like Beechwoods all year, and I’m confident our offense can / will move the ball. Gonna be close and a great game, but I got all the confidence in the Beechies to repeat.

Last post for Louden. For the record, Mayfield lost twice tonight. Not one Cardinal fan took me up on the offer of free drinks at the Saddle Club in my previous posts this week. Lol. All kidding aside, I feel fortunate to be able to say I’ve witnessed my son play a state semi twice against Mayfield, once each home and away. The Mayfield experience was awesome, besides the score, and tonight in Ft Mitchell equaled it. Two great programs, great fans, and 5 hrs between them. So cool. Hope all Cardinal fans make it home safely and especially hope #50 is okay. Hate to see anyone’s season end with an injury. Until next time……..

Personally had the pleasure of seeing Liam perform at Marshall and WVU Camps this summer. Crushed it with some elite athletes /competition. Just needs more touches and you will see him on Saturdays. No doubt.
