The Colonels win the 35th District Championship. By all reports this game was every bit as chippy as the regular season matchup, beginning with what appeared to be a ticky-tack technical foul called on Holy Cross' Jacob Meyer after sinking a three-pointer in the first quarter.

We'll more than likely see another rematch in the 9th Region tournament. This should be interesting.

They'd have to meet in the championship.  That would be a BIG accomplishment for the Indians.

Congrats to Cov Cath - they are good.  HC played hard and had their moments but the free throw difference was too much to overcome.  Atmosphere was great, fun to watch.

There was a technicals called on both benches after the first intentional call, one on Meyer early in the game and I believe one on Dylan Arlinghaus late in the game.  There were also two intentional fouls called.  I don’t think Coach Sorrell got a second technical.  As I said earlier very, very chippy. Lots of elbows, pushing, shoving and jawing. 

Really Hope for the CovCath kids that they are able to avoid injuries and make a run at Rupp this year. But I’ve Never seen a team with games in complete control late and coaches leave starters in so long. Heck, saw them pressing up 30 against Beechwood late in game the other night.  Starters in until 2 minutes. If anyone is surprised why folks are getting chippy with them, I’m shocked and they don’t know basketball.

I was surprised that when it started getting really ugly and it was going both ways that he left them in.  When he did it last time one of his starters got his second technical and had to sit out two games.  There were times when it was getting close to coming to blows.  If someone gets ejected they are out for regionals or if someone gets hurt even worse.  Taking big risks for no rewards.

From what I heard and saw, no one listened to what the Priest had to say about sportsmanship, etc. in the pre-game prayer.  ?

They have done this for years.  It’s what makes them so endearing to the rest of NKY (insert sarcasm gif here).

Maybe, the coaches are well aware of the risks they're taking, regarding health and perception.  They've likely weighed those risks against the benefits derived from how they manage a game (and season).  

As far as the rest of NKY goes, let's be real honest; the list of grievances against CCH is almost limitless.  Let's not pretend that if CCH pulled all of their starters at the end of Q3, that CCH would suddenly be loved and lauded by all parts of NKY.
